New Democracy Rising! "Awake for Peace"
On January 20th, 2005, a throng of like minded people gathered in New orleans to protest the policies of the current administration at the Jazz Funeral for Democracy. We mourned for a country that has lost its way with a war of aggression in Iraq, curtailed civil liberties and due process in the name of security, and policies which consistently value the interests of corporations ahead of the interests of the people.

The time for mourning has passed, but the need for action continues. On March 19, 2005, the energy from the Jazz Funeral will be continued with New Democracy Rising. On the 2nd anniversary of the Iraq invasion, the people are standing up to say we are against this immoral war, and we will not be silenced.
