Back-ordering Right-wing Web Sites and making them our own
Well, I was disappointed today when I woke-up and the anti-gay domain name I had back-ordered had been renewed the day of its deadline.

I was really looking forward to taking the domain name of the evil anti-gay site and instead using it instead as a force for good.

Anyway, here is my suggestion:

Research your local right-wing, anti-gay, Republican, anti-choice, and fundamentalist web pages and see if any of their domain registrations are set to expire soon.

Meanwhile, I need to find a new fundie domain to back-order.

You can do this most easily by going to www.BetterWhoIs.com

Then, you can purchase back-ordering through BetterWhoIs or GoDaddy.com, or whatever service you prefer.

Then, if they don't renew their domain name in time, it may very well belong to you.

You know, you snooze, you lose.

1. The strategy that we need
We have many fronts to take against the revisionism that is going on in the United States, but the DNS records are one of the important ones.

If we can get ALL of these site names taken away from the RW hate groups, then we can have at least some unification of the Internet as a real news source.

Some of these are really misused, too. Just imagine getting the record for the FR...

2. Great idea, but
I would caution listing the "targeted" sites here. Better to create a secure listserve, even a Yahoo group that has restricted membership, for detailed discussions.

3. Indeed, this is true. It can't be a public listing.
We should build a database or spreadsheet with the following information:

Organization
Domain
Contact information
Link to their "WhoIs" record
Link to their "Wayback Machine" record
Registrar
Hosting
Domain Expiration Date
Registrar's Terms of Service (TOS)
Host's Terms of Service
Email provider / ISP's Terms of Service
Links and other evidence to demonstrate TOS violations
Contacts with the hate group
Contacts with applicable law enforcement
Contacts at Registrar, Host, Email/ISP
A running record of correspondence with Registrars, Hosts, ISPs, and law enforcement.

Also, be sure to look for examples in their web page and mass-emails of copyright violations. Do their websites or emails violate a "four-paragraph rule?"

I'm already subscribed to several of their email lists, which I have been forwarding to various "concerned parties."

I also like to post some of them right here.

If we could all divide-up their lists among ourselves, we'd get better coverage.

It could also piss them off if they see that their messages are being posted within minutes after they're sent. (We can discuss ways to avoid being found-out).

I also have other ways I can discuss privately to use their email lists against them.

To summarize Sun Tzu in The Art of War, "Deny your enemy the ground on which to fight."
