The Courage America Convoy

Join the Courage America Convoy which sets out for Des Moines, Iowa on September 1st. Its goal is to joining the nearly 500 participants in what is to be the biggest political parade entry ever. We will also get see Willie Nelson and Dennis in concert!!

People from all over the Midwest will converge in Iowa on Monday, Sept. 1 and march with Dennis Kucinich in the Des Moines Labor Day Parade. The folks at the Iowa Kucinich campaign headquarters are hoping for as many as 500 people (this includes you!) to march with Dennis in the parade entry, making it the biggest parade entry in world history!

THEN, to top it all off, after the parade we can attend the Willie Nelson/Kucinich fundraiser concert in Des Moines at 7 p.m. Tickets to see Willie are $30, and it is considered a donation to the Kucinich campaign. (Even if you are unable to attend the concert, please consider donating a ticket; you can do this online at the Kucinich Campaign website.) In-between parade-marching and concert-going we can also provide a big help to the Iowa campaign by knocking on doors - as Dennis suggested at the rally - to get the word out. If people could go down a day early (Sunday) we could canvas in other Iowa cities such as Mason City and Ames.

Contact the Minnesota for Kucinich campaign and the volunteers coordinating the convoy if you'd like to join up and let them know what day you would like to leave: Sunday, Aug. 31 or Monday, Sept. 1. We would plan to come back up to Minneapolis (about a 3 to 3-1/2 hr. drive) Monday night after the Willie Nelson concert. If we have enough people, we could charter a bus or two.
