Anything planned for Bush*'s visit to Minnesota Tuesday?
He'll be in town to do some fund raising event.

And Normie Coleman won't be there! The weasel and his rarely-seen-with-him-wife, along with other members of Congress, are on a taxpayer financed trip to Africa that is being billed as an "Aids fact finding" tour.

4. He has the damn nerve to go to Minnesota?
Well, I guess when you're protected by the Secret Service, it doesn't take courage to face a friendly group of sycophants.

There is a lady of our Peace Coalition who is on vacation there. Bet SHE'LL BE THERE. Her name is Iris.80 years old and a real sweetheart.

On his Take Back the Media Website and Webcast, Symbolman(from DU) is suggesting that protesters blow whistles in honor of the new bush* nickname Whistleass.

9. WoW! That arouses curiosity!
Who could possibly have a post removed from this thread, and what did he/she say???

Anyway, I'll be there wearing an Uncle Sam costume and carrying alot of whistles. If the poster who had the post removed has an issue with me, come on out to the protest. I'll be the BIG GUY wearing the Uncle Sam suit.

17. Apparently MPR did the most with what they got
I caught a tiny blurb of myself on Channel 11 looking down at my map and saying something like, "I can't find the economic recovery anywhere." I heard from three people so far who heard me on MPR, where they must have identified me by name (or my voice is just so distinctive those folks know me right away). Anyway, all three had attaboys for whatever MPR had of me saying, including "things were better under Clinton" and I know I paraphrased Gore saying we should "fire this President and get a new one" but I don't know if that bit made it in because no one mentioned it.

I didn't hear from anyone who saw anything on 9 or 29, and I was at a Kucinich meeting later in the evening and missed both newscasts.

15. update
Hi All,
I was a little disappointed at the small turnout today in St. Paul. It was hot (93) and the State Fair is in town, which undoubtedly affected the turnout. I estimate 100-125… the usual hardcore anti-republican activists. Our small but surprisingly vocal group represented the usual smorgasbord of causes. The Teamsters and another union I didn’t recognize sent a protest delegation. A lot of media was there, and due to the small size of our group, several interviewed me.

The St Paul police did not confine us to a 1st amendment zone, and we were allowed very close to the front entrance of the auditorium. The republican attendees to the fundraiser were forced to walk through a gauntlet of protestors to gain the front entrance. I don’t believe anything is gained by heckling, but I participated with moderation in some of the more creative dialogs.

We never saw bush* (not surprised). His handlers ushered him in through an underground parking lot (coward).

In spite of the disappointing size of our group, I did enjoy myself. Since the selection, I’ve been in the streets a lot, and have developed some friendships. It’s good to know other flesh and blood human beings feel the same as I do, and are willing to voice their patriotic opposition to the NeoCons, the usurpers, the Liars, the bloodthirsty psychopaths, the war profiteers, the greedy, and the conscienceless.

One young lady was wearing a DU T-Shirt (The Axis of Evil with bush*, cheney, and ashcroft on the front). She said she wasn’t a member, but lurked a lot. Someone else saw the DU logo on my sign and commented that he liked the site, but wasn’t a member.

Hi, dpbrown. Hope to see you on the news. I watched at 5PM, and while the protest was mentioned, we didn’t get much air time (which is an improvement over last year).

Keep the Faith

16. Thanks for the update
I'm nowhere near as active, vocal or bold as I was when I was younger, but I'm really encouraged to see such dedicated people out there.

As an "over-the-hill-'60s radical, I can tell you one thing for sure:

You will never regret standing for your beliefs...EVER!

Thanks
