A couple minutes of silence for the victims of London bombing...
Europeans held two minutes of silence across the continent in honor of the victims of the bombing in London. My European friends are bit dismayed by the lack of such a tribute here, particularly after their great response to 9/11. It's particularly awful that our Bomber-in-Chief, George W., has registered virtually no response. (Many complain that he did not go to London. Fact is, I bet he would have been stoned out of town..., and everyone, even Blair, knew it.

If I got some support here, I would be encouraged to suggest a date and a time for such an action--unless others know of one already planned, and then start calling people I know to suggest it.

1. I completely agree...
When I saw the European two minutes of silence, I thought I might have missed something because I couldn't imagine that we, as a country, weren't participating... but, nope, it wasn't me... How shameful!

5. I think it's because the Bush admin didn't want it...
I do wish some Democrats would step forward to do this.

I really feel ashamed when I talk to my European friends about this...

2. I was in Englad and I was appalled to watch the news of other
countries observing the moments of silence and not one damned word about America!

3. Be nice if we had a Dem leader to lead the call
Since the uneducated, low-class doofus in the White House is unable to rise to the occasion and do the proper thing. This is quite embarassing for us as a nation.

While we're at it, maybe should start having moments of silence for those suffering from the same thing in Iraq.

Damn! What an embarassment!

4. I suspect Bush's callousness was calculated...
The administration's whole game at this point is to hide the horrors that its Iraq policy has created...deaths and maimings of U.S. military, and now this, a bombing in the Tube!

Who can doubt those bombings were in reaction to our Iraq policy?

I don't approve of terrorism, but I'm no fool...
