"People of goodwill say: 'No Gallo!'" Please take this simple action!
http://www.unionvoice.org/campaign/Galloneg72805/step1.tcl

From the United Farm Workers site:

The Gallos pay all their Sonoma County vineyard workers low wages and deny them benefits, job protections and humane living conditions. The Gallos were found guilty in November 2004 by the California farm labor board of illegally attempting to get rid of their workers’ union, the Cesar Chavez-founded UFW. In the face of the Gallos’ unwillingness to negotiate a fair contract with their workers, the UFW kicked off our second boycott of Gallo wine on June 14.

Recent weeks have seen silent vigils and prayer services, a "No Gallo!" march in San Francisco by 1,500 farm workers and supporters, and our first National Day of Internet Organizing. On July 19, people across America sent emails to the Gallos and forwarded our appeal to their email address books and organizations' list of members. Please help us escalate the pressure again. Email the Gallos before the next bargaining session. Help us convince the Gallos to do the responsible thing by stopping the exploitation of their Sonoma workers.

Please send your email TODAY and inform the Gallos of your decision to join the boycott. And please pass this message on to your friends.

***

thank you!

2. Not to sound like a wine snob, but isn't their product low end?
I've never had it, never will.

3. it may always taste "low end" but it's getting 'high end' promoting.
they're doing very well, while workers are dying of heat and pesticide poisoning.

please go and send an email to gallo. please count in this boycott.

thank you!

17. Damn - I didn't realize they had so many brand names!
I never buy 'Gallo', but I sometimes buy whatever random wine is on sale, and I am sure I buy some of those on the list occassionally.

I need to keep a copy of that in my wallet to make sure I don't buy them!

10. it is a memeber of AFL-CIO, and has a PAC, so it does.
and they endorsed Kerry last election.

i don't know more details, and can't look into it more, right now. there are sites that list that - just can't recall them, right now. sorry.
but i know others here know how to find who contributes to whom.

thank you for that important note.

peace!

11. I'd been looking for that info, but couldn't find it
Checked BuyBlue.org and Opensecrets.org

I must have not been using the correct key words.

I think you're right about AFL-CIO being a Democrat-oriented organization.

Shit.

One more company I need to boycott.
