How about a Voter Fraud Day? - - Nov. 2, 2005
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum to post this thread, but we were talking about it over in the main Political Discussion forum.

I originally started a thread to discuss HOW people can actually take collaborative action to get rid of the electronic voting machines and confront the lack of paper trail in state/national elections, and I thought of a possible idea:

To mark the one-year anniversary of the 2004 Election

On November 2, 2005.......

Why not have a Voter Fraud Day (or call it something catchier)

If we mobilize people throughout Democratic Underground and from other progressive Internet groups EN MASSE to innundate Howard Dean along DNC members from each activist's own state, demanding a CLEAR DIALOGUE on the problems with electronic voting machines and an agenda to fix the problem. Meetup Groups, college campuses, progressive PACs, citizens' groups...the potential mobilization could be endless!

If thousands upon thousands of citizens across the country did this all on the same day (November 2, 2005), it would send a clear message to Howard Dean and the DNC/DLC that this issue cannot be ignored or swept under the rug.

Let me end with a quotation posted by another DUer (I can't personally take credit for this quotation) :

I think the American people as a whole will be very uncomfortable to find out that two GOP partisans control 80% of the electronic voting machines.

Corruption needs SUNLIGHT

So who's up for this initiating this type of concept, or something similar to it...?

VOTER FRAUD SMACKDOWN - NOVEMBER 2, 2005 !!!!!

4. I'm unfamiliar with the DU Activists Corps
So I'm unfamiliar with how you guys are organized...

Any way someone who's an official DU Activist could bring this idea to the DU moderators' attention?

2. election fraud, please
The entire "election fraud" to "voter fraud" reframing has been used to turn the issue around from investigating falsification of election results to investigating and intimidating the voters themselves.

8. "Excellent idea"...
is RIGHT. Let's start working on getting the larger anti-fraud organizations on board.

10. Every day is VOTER FRAUD 2004 DAY....until people get it.
I like the idea of 11/2/05. We'll have Ohio (Hackett), CA (special election) and Virginia (Governor, state legislature) to look at for anomalies.

Here's a way to spread the worked. Get these two links around. This is home grown, totally outstanding, DU election fraud analysis. There's more but this makes the point well.

"Scoop" Independent News link (same material):

Check it out and get it out, E-activism has it's merits.

You're right about SUNLIGHT. Hackett has a bunch of lawyers and activists working the precincts in today's election.

Cross post to 2004 Election Results & Discussion for more support.

11. Does anyone know....???
What will be the best way for activists and citizens to electronically contact Howard Dean en masse when Nov. 2 of this year comes rolling around?

Is there a particular website and electronic submission page anyplace that allows you to send submissions to Howard Dean's or Jim Dean's offices?

Also, are there any DU moderators on this forum/section who see potential in this idea? I think it would have a lot more credibility among DUers as a whole if there are DU moderators who'd want to do something substantive with this concept.
