On April 4 2004, Cindy Sheehan's son Casey was killed while serving in Iraq. Since then she has fought tirelessly to bring attention to the plight of our troops serving in the Middle East. She founded the Gold Star Families for Peace, and is currently holding a vigil outside George W. Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas.

The Army Times wrote recently that, "(Sheehan) said she decided to seek another audience with Bush when she heard his comments about the war last week, after a spike in American deaths. The fallen men and women 'died in a noble cause,' Bush said Wednesday. 'Their families can know that we will honor their loved ones' sacrifice by completing the mission.' Sheehan said she wants to tell Bush not to use her son's death as a reason to continue the war."

Looked at the one with the flag and "Constitution" thinking it would be appropriate (since IMO Cindy is more about what the Constitution truly is all about) and found it sort of funny that the US Postal Service apparently doesn't know the difference between the Declaration Of Independance and the Constitution. Cindy,

First and foremost, I would like to offer my condolences on the loss of your son Casey. I am not a parent, and can not even imagine the depth of your loss. Every day that I read about the deaths of our soldiers I am enraged by the sheer magnitude of this needless sacrifice.

While I am a veteran, and served in the Persian Gulf, I was never directly involved in combat. I feel very fortunate to be able to say that. War should always be the last resort, and I fear in this case, it was far from that. Our President has repeatedly lied to us. That much is clear. I truly fear for this Nation, and for the rest of the world. I believe now that the saying “May you live in interesting times” may be more curse than blessing. We have fabricated our own war. I say “we” in this circumstance because the people of this country have become too complacent, and far too comfortable. By and large, we have neglected the best of the principles that our forefathers put forth to us. They warned of a complacent Republic and now we have it. They warned of manipulation and corruption of government. Should we be so surprised that it is here?

I strongly support your efforts at Crawford. I want to thank you for taking a stand and demanding that our President answer to his populace. It is what we should all do. Your actions help inspire others to speak out against the wrongs of this government.

So, should you get the opportunity to speak with the man who claims to be our leader; please keep these questions in mind:

1) Where is your noble cause?
2) Who shall be the last faithful American soldier to die for your pre-emptive war of lies?
3) Why? Always ask why. Why are we torturing, why are we “rendering”, why are we dying? Why are we killing?

I applaud you and all those with you at Crawford. For every person there in the flesh, there are hundreds, if not thousands, with you in spirit. Since I have heard you are not one to shy away from profanity, let me add some: Stay on his ass, he bought this shit storm, and now he has to pay for it!!

Dear Cindy Sheehan,

This letter is to offer you condolences for the loss of your son in Iraq. It is not right for a parent to have to bury their child. And to realize the war was not necessary makes me furious at those responsible for starting this war.

To be sure, there are times when war is necessary. Your son realized this and took an oath to defend our country. But those in power must not abuse the power we grant them and put our sons and daughters in harms way for needless reasons.

George Bush, his administration and many of our representatives in congress let us all down by ordering our military to wage war against another country that did not have any ability whatsoever to harm us. It has been shown repeatedly that Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction, nor did they have anything to do with the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 in New York City. Yet Mr. Bush, I will NOT call him my president, from his ‘pulpit’ in the Whitehouse continued to enrage the people against a country that as near as I can tell had committed the unpardonable sin of sitting on top of large oil deposits.

And to use our sons and daughters in a war of new colonialism, to protect the interests of corporations and the wealthy is more than just a sin. In my opinion to lie to the American people to start a ‘pre-emptive war’ for mere profit is treason against the people.

George Bush does not belong in the Whitehouse, he belongs in Leavenworth awaiting the gallows. George Bush is a traitor.

You Mrs. Sheehan are incredibly courageous for what you are doing right now, standing outside of George Bush’s so called pig farm calling him out, for his treachery and killing over 1800 American soldiers, wounding 10,000 and killing God only knows have many innocent Iraqi people. Your anger is justified.
