I have seen a lot of people attempting to create databases (I am building one myself) to offer temporary and extended shelter for the victims. However, as it is a non-governmental effort (THANK GOD!) thus far, it is very sparse and there are no prerequisites that would gage eligibility.

The fact is, my friends, there are people in this country who will abuse these offerings to suit their own criminal or deviant needs.

So please, if you are considering offering extended shelter, do yourself and the organizations a favor and request a criminal background and child abuse certificate from your state government. By holding this document, you will be of enormous help to speed the process and prevent further victimization of these people.

I am sure it has been said before about a million times and I am sure you are all fully aware, but this crisis will take YEARS to solve. People will be in need of a long stay across the nation, thus they will need schools and jobs.

You may not be contacted for a few months to collect your offerings. Please take that time to prepare for the administrative red tape now.
