http://witf.org/temps/FM/news1.shtmlhttp://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=795841&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312Accuweather is a weather service that many local stations pay to use for their weather reports. In the Philly region has 4 main local evening news channels: WCAU(nbc), KYW(CBS) and WPVI(ABC) and WXTU(Fox). Of those four stations - the ABC station is affliated with Accuweather.
As you know - Accuweather is in bed with Rick Santorum. Accuweather recently made a donation to Santorum's campaign and then 2 days later Santorum introduces a bill that would cut funding to the National Weather Service - a government weather service that is free to the public and paid for through our tax dollars. ABCNews actually did an article questioning the timing between the Accuweather donation and Santorum's bill (

Now, just today, Rick Santorum is trying to beat down the National Weather Service, this time blaming the NWS for poor planning with Hurricane Katrina and that they are to blame for the damage done by the hurricane. This again is Rick Santorum's way of paying back his cronies at Accuweather and hopefully getting his anti-NWS legislation passed.
This is a small activism thing, but if you're watching your local news and you see that they use Accuweather (and you can check their homepages too), then switch channels and start relying on a different station for your local news. In fact - call that news station and let them know you're not watching their news anymore because of Accuweather's association with Rick Santorum.
Here is the most recent link about Santorum accusing the NWS for Katrina's damage. Obviously this fits the Bush Regime's M.O. for blaming everyone but themselves for the Katrina fiasco but this bides well for Santorum who is getting money from Accuweather to do their bidding.
Say NO to accuweather. It won't cost you anything but hopefully save the National Weather Service!!
