On Saturday, October 4, Vince Whitacre (aka Whitacre D_WI) will formally announce his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for U.S.
Representative from Wisconsin's Fifth Congressional District. This announcement will also serve as the kickoff event for his first official fundraising drive, from which he expects to collect $100,000 from individual contributors by New Year's Day.
This event will take place at 12:00 noon at Bethesda Park in Waukesha, and you are all invited. The suggested contribution is $25 per adult (kids are welcome, but they can't give any money), and there will be food and beverages for everyone. This event is vegetarian-friendly, carnivore-friendly, and
Tyson-free.
We hope you will all attend, and we encourage you to bring along some friends. (RSVP for them, or ask them to reply, so we can get an accurate head count.) This is a very exciting moment for the campaign, and we sincerely want to share it with all of you.
To RSVP (by Sept. 27, please), get directions, or let us know you want to speak at the event, please click:
http://www.vince4congress.com/rsvpIf you are unable to attend, we would still appreciate any contribution you'd like to make. You may do so (via PayPal, or print out and mail the form with a check) at:
http://www.vince4congress.com/contributeWe will be having an online fundraiser in conjunction with this in-person fundraiser, so watch DU for updates. (Anything contributed by DUers before then will count, so don't wait if you want to give now!) To those DUers who already have contributed so generously: THANK YOU!
I'm not sure what the campaign-finance rules have to say about all of the disclaimers, so I'll just stick them here to be sure (and sorry for the clutter):
Remember that the maximum allowable contribution is $2,000 per individual per election cycle, contributors must be citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States over the age of 18, and contributions from corporations and labor unions are not permitted by law. Contributions to Vince Whitacre for Congress are not tax deductible for federal income-tax purposes.
Thanks again for all your support. This campaign would
not be possible without you.
Authorized by Vince Whitacre for Congress.
(Oh, and this post was authorized by Skinner, too.)
Edited for DU versus normal HTML, as usual...
