his amendment to the horrible detainee bill. Go to http://www.c-span.org/watch/cspan2_rm.asp?Cat=TV&Code=CS2

Call your Senator and ask them to support the amendment.

1. Unfortunately
My "Senators" are John Warner and Felix Allen, so that's two you can forget about.

2. Not a good idea, in my opinion.
a) how about some content on what the amendment does?

b) the vile motherfuckers are likely to simply delete the amendment in conference committee.

c) busholini is likely to sign out of existence anything he objects to.

The proper stance on this bullshit odious criminal bill is to vote it down and if that is not possible to obstruct its passage until it can be voted down. Anything else is too risky.

3. The torture bill needs to be STOPPED, period
It's 147 page dismantling of the Geneva Convention and the War Crimes Act and no single amendment can fix all that is wrong with it.

6. Amen.
They are trying to ram this home, and ram it fast and hard. Two hours of debate max.

That should tell you something. If anyone stops to think about this bill, it won't pass.

7. Two hours debate? I thought it was 12 hours?
or has it changed since this news broke?

In the Senate, GOP leaders won an agreement from Democrats to debate the bill for less than a dozen hours and then vote on it.

8. Our NoPosition Party is taking a dive, as usual.
I am fucking disgusted. I will go vote as usual, holding my nose, for the NoPosition Party that cannot find any reason to stand and oppose fascism and tyranny.

5. Amendment?
What will it say ... Bush can only torture on odd-numbered days? :eyes:

There is no amending this. It needs to be stopped!
