Tell Wal-Mart to Stop Promoting Religious Violence
'Tis the season to slaughter non-Christians in the name of God.
As we highlighted last week, just in time for Christmas 2006, Tim LaHaye and the Bible publishing company Tyndale House have released the video game version of LaHaye’s apocalyptic Left Behind series — “Left Behind: Eternal Forces.” Like the book series, the game takes place in a post-rapture world, and pits Christians against the forces of the anti-Christ. While the game has no blood — a tactic employed to keep its rating below M for Mature — players are tasked with converting or killing non-believers which can include Jews, Muslims, and Catholics.
Ironically both Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council recently sent out messages regarding violent video games without even acknowledging the existence of “Left Behind: Eternal Forces.” While this extreme message can be expected from the religious right, we’re hoping to encourage the nations #1 seller of video games — Wal-Mart — to stop selling the religious violence that this game promotes.
Take action here and send a letter to Wal-Mart’s CEO, urging him stop pushing religious violence this holiday season.
http://ga3.org/campaign/tell_wal_martPlease forward this to everyone you know, especially religious Americans. Is this really how Christians want their faith represented?
