This third annual report of Patriots for Al Gore will focus primarily on the work we have done to support Al Gore's groundbreaking and tremendous work regarding the climate crisis and bringing the warning about its affects that have been ignored all these years into the consciousness of the world besides our other efforts. The environment has been the one issue that has always been Mr. Gore's heart, and we, especially I, here at Patriots for Al Gore share that dedication in seeing a sustainable future.

Mr. Gore has done more in 2006 to bring this truth to the consciousness of the world as a private citizen, statesman, and environmental advocate than he ever accomplished in Washington DC thus proving as he also claims, how toxic this system is, and we applaud his visionary efforts and personal courage and conviction in standing up to it, appreciate his continued work on this most crucial issue that will determine our future relationship with this planet, and support his endeavors wholeheartedly in the year to come.

The beginning of 2006 saw Mr. Gore's magnificent treatise on government and the excesses of presidential power delivered for the American Constitution Society in Washington DC at a time when it was most needed.

For me this speech was not just a clarion call to keep the feet of our legislative and judicial branches to the fire regarding investigating and prosecuting these crimes and abuses. It was also a clarion call for me and whoever else may feel the moral outrage at what took place to lead us here, to forge ahead in righting that wrong. And that means restoring the rule of law, Democratic dialogue, and accountability to those who dared to think they were above it.

The words Mr. Gore spoke in this speech were timely, and mainly concerned themselves with the abuses of an administration that must be put into check. It is now a year since this magnificent speech was delivered by the statesman of our time. In the year since this speech was delivered however, we still find ourselves open to constitutional abuses and lies by the same people in our Executive branch as were there last year. It is then sad that the inspiring clarion call to action to Congress and the American people delivered by Mr. Gore did little to bring the people to the point where these abuses would be enough to spark them to action to restore the rule of law.

We hope with the release of Mr. Gore’s book this May entitled, The Assault On Reason” that people will begin to understand how much their fear and indifference has led to the current crises we face in this country, and move them to take part in reversing the damage done by becoming part of the solution which entails taking the constitutional action our Forefathers included in our constitution exactly for times like these.

Press release regarding our UN Announcement for the institution of a Global Environmental Ambassador post, and our request that Al Gore be named the first Ambassador for our world.

We did receive a response from former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan about this request, and while he was not against it, he claimed it was not being considered at this time. Therefore, Patriots for Al Gore will then be sending another request to current Secretary General Ban regarding this request, especially in light of the IPCC report just released on February 2, 2007.

Other endeavors:

1. 2006 also saw our PAC ending our attempt to have Congress consider a constitutional amendment to restore the terms of those who had them defrauded through unconstitutional means and fraud. It was a sad end to this effort for us, as our petition effort did garner over three thousand signatures even though we were restricted in our resources in getting this out.

However, due to a lack of interest and moral fortitude on the part of Congress and also due to the efforts of other organizations that claim to support Mr. Gore that actively sought to discredit our effort, we decided it best to do as Mr. Gore has done and devote our energies to working on issues we believe we can have a positive affect on. I wish to thank Mr. Gore for his understanding of our motivation behind this effort, and our respect for him and outrage at a system that would allow such a Constitutional abrogation against its people to take place.

2. The report of the Prison Commission came out this past year, and this is the report with our response:

This response was also forwarded to the Subcommittee on Corrections. The state of our prisons in this country is a constitutional nightmare and a moral outrage. We will continue to monitor this and support all efforts to reform sentencing laws, speak out against privatization, and restore dignity to this system that shows the moral compass of our country which is currently greatly lacking.

Any financial information about our PAC from its inception in January 2004 until the last current ending cycle can be found in the FEC link above. Our fundraising for 2006 was minimal as the PAC focused more on supporting Mr. Gore’s endeavors and other efforts through personal outreach. All administrative costs are covered personally by the members of this PAC, and nothing donated goes to anything other than supporting endeavors for our environment, feeding the hungry, and supporting civil liberties. That will remain our focus in 2007 as well.

Throughout the year I through this PAC have been trying to inform and educate people about the catastrophe that awaits us should we not change our ways regarding the effect we are having on our planet. With the release of An Inconvenient Truth last May, Mr. Gore and the producers have managed to raise awareness of this crisis and our part in it to a level that will hopefully be sustained enough in this new year to warrant some real progress on mitigating it.

However, that will not happen unless we take the information he and climate scientists have given us seriously and pledge to take the next step, which is to help him spread this information and to also change our own lifestyles in ways that will help preserve this planet and slow down the process of climate change which is already being seen in glaciers across this world regarding rapid melting that has put our own species and others such as rocker penquins and polar bears at risk of extinction, longer and more sustained and severe droughts that are affecting life and livelihoods already in over 35% of our world, acidic oceans unable to sustain the bio chain that links us all together, and other effects that are costing us economically and personally our only home.

This petition will then be sent by me to Mr. Gore directly to Nashville, TN. at the end of next month to show him the amount of support people have for his work on the climate crisis, and to show their signatures pledging to help him with it by becoming climate messengers.

There is also no partisan political spin or speculation attached to it. It is open to anyone who cares for our only home and who wishes to help Mr. Gore and others truly begin to start work on addressing it in this coming year before that window closes. This is no joke, and this is not an issue just to be used as a political platform to get votes in an election. This is about our very survival and is a moral issue.

Any sincere signatures any of you would then like to add to this petition that will go to Mr. Gore would then be appreciated. I think he needs to know we support his work based on its merits and that we stand ready to help him with it. I applied for his training in Nashville but was not selected due to the amount of responses. However, that does not mean I am giving up on getting out word about this planetary catastrophe we must fix for our children.

If you have seen even one film about the huge Ayles ice shelf that just fell off in the Arctic, or the total sinking of Locachara Island in India because of rising and warming seas, you will see that this is happening now and we have a moral duty to stop it with the very hands that are causing it. Therefore, please feel free to pass it on to others who might also be interested in signing this to him for our planet.

This is one New Year's resolution we must not fail on.

We will be continuing this effort this year with community outreach efforts, letters to local and state governments, businesses, and global organizations such as the UN. We will also actively encourage Mr. Gore to continue his work on this crisis and not be sidetracked by other endeavors that may hurt the momentum he is gathering at the grassroots level in seeking to mitigate this urgent moral and spiritual crisis.

You are the environmental leader of our times at a time when your place in history is exactly where you should be, and I thank you for clarifying that this is not a political but a moral and spiritual issue. Hopefully, those who continue to only use this movie and your sincere efforts as a springboard for their own agendas will see that as well. Always know that at PFG we do see it and are keeping our eye on the prize and are so pleased and grateful you are now here to inspire as you have always wanted to.
