DC World Can't Wait - Emergency Protest
From: DC World Can't Wait <d...@worldcantwait.org>

Subject: Emergency Protest on the day of Bush's Veto of the timeline for Bringing Troops Home from Iraq
Date: Mon, 30 Apr 2007 02:38:17 +0000
Urgent: Please forward widely and post...

Dear Members and Friends of the DC Chapter of World Can't Wait,

Please join us in a protest on the day Bush vetoes the Iraq Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Bill, and tell Bush it is time to end this war! We will converge on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House at 5:00 pm. The veto will probably occur on Tuesday May 1st or Wednesday May 2nd. Check the news and your e-mail to find out which day. Please bring pots and pans or other noise-makers and signs asking motorists to honk to end the war now!

World Can't Wait chapters nationwide are protesting this veto. It shows Bush's total unwillingness to entertain any date to stop the war in Iraq. Although the bill continues to fund the war rather than ending the occupation and bringing our troops home, Bush is vetoing the bill because of the nonbinding timeline for withdrawal of combat troops. The veto represents Bush's refusal to acknowledge the November 2006 mandate from the people to end the war. Please make every effort to be there, as it is very important that we send a strong message that this is unacceptable to the American people. Get word out to everyone you know!

Please contact us by phone or e-mail to co-sponsor and help organize this protest.

1. Majority of Iraqi Lawmakers favor US withdrawl
I'm too young (on the forum) to start a new topic and this seemed like a resonable place to post it:

A majority of Iraqi lawmakers now favor the US timetable for withdrawl. This is pretty significant as far as the right's continued ridiculus justificantion for this massive crime against humanity.

Anyway, I'm going to post in on a more "mainstream" forum as well so any help with snappy comebacks would be appreciated.
;-)
