Help with McGovern bill for Redeployment: Does it contain an Oil Privitization

Or is the Oil Privitization Provision I've heard about part of the vetoed Conference version of the Supplemental Appropriations, which would be back in committee now?

I'm not real happy with "Redeployment" instead of Withdrawal, and I understand the McGovern bill being voted on in the House today or tomorrow does contain a defined end of the funding, but I'm not sure that's worth Oil Privitization, which would put us back into the region protecting "our Oil" again.

1. I don't think it contains any of the "benchmarks" at all. I share your

concerns about "redeployment" ... unless it means redeployment to Kansas, Nebraska, Florida.
No troops in the Middle East.

3. Darn it! I thought it DID have benchmarks, which MAY be okay as long as

it doesn't contain a benchmark for Privitization of Iraqi Oil.

I prefer something similar to the Venezuelan model.

5. Benchmarks are not what i want. Because i believe u.s. troops should leave unconditionally.

6. I just got a text of the bill from the Rules Committee: No Benchmarks.

I'd prefer there be no benchmarks either. I'd prefer we pack up completely and go home and NEVER go back. I'd prefer we'd never gone there in the first place and I've prefered that since 2002.

But . . . I'm just trying to get along with those with whom I have differences and move this problem on down the road a bit, so SOME benchmarks MIGHT be acceptable, but the DEVIL IS in the details and I think Privitization pretty much guarantees that we'll "HAVE" to go back.
