~snip~ US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, a defender of the controversial camp, is due to speak next month at Lancashire Police headquarters in Hutton, near Preston, to promote new American-style peer courts.
Mr Gonzales is expected at a conference to mark the launch of the courts in Preston areas plagued by juvenile nuisance, but the visit has been slammed by a city councillor.
Coun Michael Lavalette of the Respect Party, said: "I don't think we need lessons in justice from a man who is directly responsible for the abolition of the most basic and fundamental human rights, as seen at Guantanamo
