Our Country is in serious trouble, and as our government rushes headlong over the cliff . . . .
From the 2006 election to the current polls, from Generals forced out to pasture to old-guard Republican statesmen, from Cindy Sheehan to the blogosphere, the evidence is overwhelming that the American People want out of Iraq. Our government, with few exceptions, wants to stay the course. Even the Democratic leadership is convinced that we can't just pull out and we must maintain a presence. Despite all evidence to the contrary, they talk of "surges" and "progress." Congress funds the construction of permanent military bases and an embassy complex that puts Saddam's former palace to shame. -
jlynne. . . we are left to wonder . . . Who shall lead us home? There is, of course, only one answer - we must lead ourselves away from the edge of that cliff. In groups of tens, hundreds, thousands, and tens of thousands. We must build the solidarity, and the physical presence, to magnify our voices until they can no longer be ignored, or ridiculed, or punished.

We all know that September 15th is the deadline for the delivery of the "Petraeus" Report.
It is also the day when Washington D.C. will be the site of what promises to be the largest
protest ever against the Iraq War. -

wants $50,000,000,000 more. For a war that is lost. For a war that continues to
accomplish nothing but death and devastation. Because he's confident that the Democrats won't
stop him! Anyone want to prove him wrong? - Turkana
When I look at the world that they are growing up in now, a world filled with fear, war, torture, lies, the loss
of the most basic liberties, the destruction of this country and everything it stands for, I cannot sit idly
by and not do something. The methods I've used up to this point have been a bitter disappointment to me.
Every day that passes where the rule of law is ignored, where injustice is perceived as a just another tool
for the mighty, where death and destruction are the norm is another day that I have failed my grandchildren.
I cannot let this pass, I cannot let what is happening to my country, my grandchildren's country, continue.
