**HEADS UP** HACKING DEMOCRACY on HBO at 8am - a MUST SEE re stealing presidential elections.
Edited on Sun Oct-05-08 07:15 AM by 1Hippiechick
Exposes how black box votes are manipulated, and how Bush STOLE the 2000 election. If you can't watch the video, please at least go to the website http://www.blackboxvoting.org to see what is CURRENTLY happening state-by-state.

If this doesn't get you attention about stealing elections, nothing will. And please don't bombard me about whatever problem there was with Bev Harris and Andy. I don't know anything about that and don't want to know anything about that.

The video speaks for itself.

I predict.

6. I read your post, went directly to the HBO channel
and found an "HBO First Look" special. I hit the menu button and found it on the HBO Signature channel. I've got fourteen HBO channels (east coast/west coast feeds and Latino).

fwiw, my husband and I hosted a "watch party" for friends when it was first shown on HBO. But, it is always worth watching again.

8. A watch party! What a wonderful thing to DO! What hit you the hardest in the documentary?
What made me cry was watching the people in Ohio "test" the equipment and have demonstrated right before their very eyes that the outcome could be manipulated without detection. To watch the horror of that sink in, and how they reacted - when the woman started crying, I started crying with her out of empathy. And the poor guy struggling to maintain composure. I really felt that I was sharing that moment of awakening - of scales falling from one's eyes...and it was devastating. I don't cry when I watch it now - I just feel nauseated.

What about you?

9. Are you asking how I felt almost two years ago?

I have three distinct memories. First, a lot of stuff that had been talked about on DU was finally being seen by a wider audience. That was very gratifying. Second, I remember actually seeing and hearing Andy then breaking down crying. Third, I remember the people we had invited over and watching it with them. And, because we were hosting it, I have my clearest memory is making sure people were comfortable, that there was plenty of food, etc.

ON edit: I just checked the Kansas forum. It seems my memory was faulty. There was a KU basketball game that night, so I recorded it for friends and we had a watch party after its first showing and not on the night it originally aired. I was born a Jayhawk first and a Democrat second. What can I say?

10. Well, for starters, you can say that you still love ol' Roy Williams, lol.
Listen, I used to work in the UNC-CH Athletic Department, and even as far back as the 80s, the plan had ALWAYS been for Roy to come back and take Dean's place. Always. Does Roy have any friends left in Kansas?

11. We don't care
It worked out all the way around. Besides, personality-wise Bill Self has been a much better fit for the Lawrence community than Roy was. Roy had a habit of not understanding that he was in a very liberal community and kept finding new and different ways of alienating different segments of the community. And, one of his last "public" acts didn't go over well, at all, in Lawrence. We had city elections in 2003. Roy came out and advocated for the developers in the race and openly campaigned for their coalition (appearing in radio, tv and print ads). Fortunately, we had already formed the Progress Lawrence Coalition and our progressive slate took control of the city commission by trouncing the Williams-backed developers by a sizable margin (http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2003/apr/07/election_results_force/).

4. While it is positive that HBO is getting this out
and I would love to see it sometime, it is an example of too little, too late. Since Americans have elected, (pun intended) to bury their collective head in the sand over the last 8+ years we are already pass the point of no return. The upcoming so-called election has already been decided, they have already starting getting their numbers together in Ohio, and suffice it to say, the people are not the winners.
