VA Elections Nov4th!!! We need lots GOTV volunteers!!

The critical VA state and local elections are in JUST 13 days

There is a HUGE need for all kinds of help in the GOTV campaign during the next 13 days. Any DUers in the DC area are WELCOME to help out on our most critical and targetted races.

Yes, General Assembly and local races are all up for grabs and the freepers are out there in force in SOME districts. Yes, in NOVA, the Dems have many strongholds, but we do have several VERY close races.

If you want to get involved, contact the Fairfax County Democratic Committee at 703-573-6811 and tell them you would like to help with the GOTV campaign. Please mention that you saw the post here at DU! Be prepared to give them your name, phone number if you would like to have a call back. And yes, we can direct you to the closest campaigns nearest to where you live.

Or you can email [e-mail] with the times that you are available. Please put "GOTV Volunteer' in you subject line, so we will be alerted to your post.

Much of the GOTV efforts will require you to have transportation BUT we can pick up some volunteers at West Falls Church Metrorail, between 10-4PM. You must call in advance, however, we dont want you to get stuck there waiting around.

Phonebanks and neighborhood sweeps will be held EVERYDAY from 4-9PM and on Sat and Sun from 10-6PM. You can volunteer for either one or both activities.

2. Virginia Elections

I live in the Hampton Roafs area and all I've seen are repukes running for re-election with no Dem opponents. Sen. Warner has been all over the TV preening for them. Some of them have other repukes running against them. It's very cut and dried here, I'm afraid. It's a repuke stronghold and no Dem dare test these waters.

I wish you good luck up north. I know that you will need it.
