The most important race of 2010
Edited on Tue May-25-10 07:40 AM by Ian David
Dear MoveOn member,

This is it.

It comes down to one Senate race in Arkansas.

If Bill Halter wins the run-off, Washington will never be the same again. Democrats will know their base won't put up with them cutting deals with corporate interests and undercutting the change that Americans demanded in 2006 and again in 2008.

If Blanche Lincoln wins, it's back to business as usual. Period.

They are tied in a run-off. We know how to win this race. We just need to raise $200,000—right away.

We need 3 people in Brockton to donate to hit our goal—can you chip in $5 today? Just click the link below:

Run-off elections are all about voter turnout, so we're teaming up with local groups in an effort to reach thousands of Halter voters with phone calls, direct mail, and a door-to-door canvass. It's all ready to go. We just need to meet our goal.

If Halter wins this primary—running a campaign powered by regular Arkansans, countless volunteers, and tens of thousands of small donors—it'll send a powerful message to corporate politicians: voters are fed up with a Washington in bed with corporate interests, and are ready to take their government back.

It'll show Washington that Arkansans want the candidate who supported the public option—Bill Halter—not Lincoln, the senator who helped kill it. And that Bill Halter, who fought to establish a scholarship lottery that's creating tens of thousands of scholarships for Arkansas students, is the kind of person regular Arkansans want representing them—not Blanche Lincoln, who sided with big banks over students in opposing student loan reforms this year.1

With the run-off barely two weeks away, we need to get started now. Can you chip in today? Just click here: https://pol.moveon.org/donate/halter3_m.html

Thanks for all you do.
