Just in case you forgot...the GOP - Greedy,Obtuse and Petulant are scum.

The shit they are pulling at the Kagan hearings is beyond astounding. Civility has been eviscerated by the Republicans from our politics and public discourse. These people are not Christians by any stretch of the imagination. Ignorance breeds fear, discrimination and lies and they are all alive and well within the GOP.

The demographics are changing in this country and the ignorant, greedy and obtuse and thrashing in despair as "their way of life" disappears before their eyes....Good riddance - their beliefs are not what America is about. Republicans are either total scum or totally ignorant....I as an American am neither.

Democrats need to just abandon any semblance or though of bi-partisanship....how many more clues do we need that these people are off the reservation and not dealing with facts, but ideology. I cannot have a discussion or even an argument with a segment of the population that suffers from congitive dissonace and ignorance. Marginalize and ignore them...these folks as per Howard Fineman "are from another planet"...

I'm tired of voting for the lesser evil, it hasn't been working, we now have a Washington chock full of evil. No more votes for demi-evils from me. -- severe political partisan gridlock
-- complicated and obsolete rules in both chambers of congress
-- too much influence by big money, big media and talk show hosts
-- incredible cost of running an effective campaign
-- voting inconsistencies and irregularities

Of course you know all this but prefer to only blame incumbents.. how so?

Short of revolutiion, the best option is to continue to build the Senate Dem majority to point where the 60 votes needed to break a fili is no longer an issue. Once that happens you will begin to see major changes in this country.

"acceptable" alternatives. At the national level, there are very few truly progressive candidates. In the 2008 election, what actual progressive candidates were there? Kucinich. And everyone knew he had no chance, simply because he would never get favorable press or enough money to get elected. The people who control the money and the press wanted someone else. Someone who would keep the wars going, who would go along with an industry-friendly health insurance reform, etc.

Face it. We have the furthest-left administration that we are permitted to have.

Vote for incumbents, vote for non-incumbents--it doesn't matter. The important phases of the pre-selection process have already occurred before the campaign started. Nader was wrong. There's a lot more than a dime's worth of difference. I'd say about $0.75

I am just as frustrated and pissed off as you all are but until we organize and start marching and getting the media's attention..nothing will happen the way we need it to! It's easier to sit here and complain and maybe it makes us feel better for a minute but it won't change a damn thing. I am in SW Florida..we NEED TO GET TO WASHINGTON DC IN NUMBERS. I find it interesting and quite ignorant of you to shoehorn anyone who has conservative ideals as scum. I personally am a registered republican, but also hold a lot of liberal ideals. To say that one person is either this or that is very narrow minded.

My fiance is a died in the wool liberal (I refer to her as my own personal Che Guevara) and she posts here quite often. One evening we met up with some of her friends on DU for dinner and I happened to mention that I am a conservative. Everyone was shocked and I received questions such as "what kind of conservative are you?" Well, quite honestly I'm the kind that doesn't kick puppies or eat babies.

Everyone has a mixture of ideals. On the death penalty I am conservative. On the subject of health care I am VERY liberal, to the point of wanting America to have a version of the NHS. I do not believe in warrantless wire tapping, sending anyone remotely suspicious to GITMO, or that we need to spend billions on the DHS. I also think W and Palin are compete idiots and only confirm that brain dead morons can be successful.

Holding those personal ideals, some conservative and some liberal, does that make me scum simply because I am a REGISTERED republican? I don't think so.

most of us cant afford gas to get to work never mind go to march. today only republican tea party maggots can afford that. bush took us 8 years into the woods and it will take 8 years to get out they will blame dems. and if gop takes over again we may see a revolution cause the greedy dont want to pay tax the teachers firefighters cops and all other unions will continue to fall and the 2 percenters will get theyre people elected cause theyre money buys elections .we can only hope to open and educate the minds of people that dont see this stuff happening.
