SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Homeless advocates have occupied several vacant buildings in San Francisco to call for more housing for the homeless.
The group Homes Not Jails says there are more than 30,000 vacant homes in San Francisco while the city's homeless population numbers around 10,000.
Members of the group on Tuesday morning were still occupying at least one of the buildings, the Cathedral Hill Hotel, that they stormed a day earlier.
The San Francisco Examiner reports that they used bolt cutters to open a gate around the hotel and get inside. Police have apparently not intervened ...
