Friends! President Bush will be in Winston-Salem Friday November 7th for a luncheon campaign fundraiser- $ 2,000 plate! Because it is obscene to pay $ 2,000 for a lunch when most people don't make that much money in a month, we are organizing an alternative event: FREE SOUP AND FREE SPEECH, at Winston Square Park from 10 am to 2 pm. Let's turn out a really good crowd for this and tell President Bush how we really feel about the economy, jobs, war profiteering, civil rights and liberties, education, health care, the environment, Osama Bin Missin' ... you get the picture! Not to mention all the furniture factories in Lexington, and mills all over the Piedmont. I run into former workers of these places everday at the school, trying to help. The Greensboro News and Record from 10/27 ran a nice piece on displaced workers and featured one of our students. She's got it hard and I'd probably drop dead of stress if I were in her shoes. These folks are brave and a great example for the entire student body.

I might just show up.
