What's up with this forum?

I'd like to see this forum put to better use. What I'd rather see is a calendar 'forum'. Some calendar looking thing that we can post things to.

Right now, I have no idea what's going on in my area. I find it hard to believe that WASHINGTON, DC doesn't have anything planned.

I think if you fix this forum, it'll be THE place for dems and protestors to go for times and places for where to go.

I envision having an actual form to fill out, that must be 'okayed' by the powers that be at the site. The form needs for people to put the location, time, and details. Then the moderators can fix it up nice.

Once it's nice, then others can click on that date's event to open up a message thread and to make comments, like now.

Don't know if it's do-able, but it would be worth a shot.

the newswire has been overtaken by right wing trolls and seriously demented lefties but the calendar bit is still good I was surprised when I fist came to DU that there wasn't one here - but then again Melbourne's a lot smaller than the entire US
