Electronic Voting: Is Your Voice Being Heard?
Congress needs to hear from you! Friday is a great day to send out info to your friends about restoring Voter Confidence and addressing the electronic voting machine issue. A lot of people do their e-activism over the weekends and this issue needs our immediate attention in Congress.

You can easily make your voice heard at www.verifiedvoting.org and find out more ways to participate on many levels.

Background information on this issue is easily accessible at www.blackboxvoting.org where you will find an extensive library of evidence stressing the unrgency of this matter.

This is a fime opportunity to stress multi-partisan unity and reach out to those you know have different political leanings. We need to recognize common ground where it is evident. This country has been far too polarized lately and this is a chance to work together.

Peace,
Teresa

1. Media stealing vote also!
Computers and the media are stealing our vote.

Read the below article about the media having control of declaring the winners, etc.

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/politics/2001844416_exitpolls27.html

Oh my god...trust the media with telling us who won the vote? No way. This has to be stopped. Only election officials should announce results not media or private companies (who can be bought off). Even our voting system is being "privatized".

The media lied about who won the election 2000. In 2002, their computers broke down.... and we should trust them again?

Vote counting and announcement of results should be a public event. Vote counting can be done at a local level and reported to government (also a public forum). This is not rocket science to count paper ballots. Do it like the Canadians (Ontario..City of Toronto) or Germans (have them do the exit polling..or tell us how they do it).

2. Want to see how a Logic and Accuracy “Test” is run on voting machine softw
There will be a Logic and Accuracy Test of Riverside County's touchscreen voting system this Friday at 3:00pm. I was present at the last one and was deeply disturbed by what I saw. If this next time there are more people present who have technical knowledge, the Registrar of Voters will not be able to get away with making the incorrect assertions and using the poor testing procedures that she did last time. (Please see my report on the last “test” http://www.exit.com/RiversideVoteTest/RiversideCountyTestObservationBoard.pdf )

It is crucial to get as many witnesses to this event as possible. If you can come, please do, especially if you have any experience in testing software. If you cannot come but know someone who can, please tell them about it. This is worth taking an afternoon off work for.

The Registrar of Voters Office is located at:
Registrar of Voters
2724 Gateway Dr.
Riverside, CA 92507

Thanks,
Jeremiah Akin

3. Thanks for this reminder.
I've begun talking to people at work about this. People are clueless and feel that we can't do anything about it. They are so wrong!
