The Bush 2004 campaign kicked off this week with slick TV ads that use images of the ruins at Ground Zero to suggest that Americans are safer under Bush.

This has backfired, spectacularly. The 9/11 families themselves have taken to the airwaves to express revulsion at this latest attempt to exploit the dead of Sept. 11 for political gain. They are on prime time, on the mainstream news programs.

And they are still asking their unanswered questions about what really happened on Sept. 11. The obstruction of the 9/11 investigation by Bush is turning into a major issue. The media are showing images they suppressed after Sept. 11 - images of Bush in the school, doing nothing, listening to children read "The Pet Goat" while New York burned. Why? Why did neither he nor his entourage react to "America under attack"? That is one of 23 questions the families want to pose to Bush directly.

Furor over Bush's 9/11 ad

"It's a slap in the face of the murders of 3,000 people," said Monica Gabrielle, whose husband died in the twin tower attacks. "It is unconscionable."

Gabrielle and several other family members said the injury was compounded by Bush's refusal to testify in open session before the 9/11 commission.

Mindy Kleinberg said she was offended because the White House has not cooperated fully with the commission and because of the sight of remains being lifted out of Ground Zero in one of the spots. "How heinous is that?" Kleinberg asked. "That's somebody's ."

Firefighter Tommy Fee in Rescue Squad 270 in Queens was appalled. "It's as sick as people who stole things out of the place. The image of firefighters at Ground Zero should not be used for this stuff, for politics," Fee said.

Commission Interview with President Bush February 16, 2004

February 16, 2004. The Family Steering Committee believes that President Bush should provide sworn public testimony to the full ten-member panel of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States.

Collectively, the Commissioners are responsible for fulfilling the Congressional mandate. Therefore, each Commissioner must have full access to the testimony of all individuals and the critical information that will enable informed decisions and recommendations. Before an audience of the American people, the Commission must ask President Bush in sworn testimony, the following questions:

1. As Commander-in-Chief on the morning of 9/11, why didn't you return immediately to Washington, D.C. or the National Military Command Center once you became aware that America was under attack? At specifically what time did you become aware that America was under attack? Who informed you of this fact?

2. On the morning of 9/11, who was in charge of our country while you were away from the National Military Command Center? Were you informed or consulted about all decisions made in your absence?

3. What defensive action did you personally order to protect our nation during the crisis on Sept. 11? What time were these orders given, and to whom? What orders were carried out? What was the result of such orders? Were any such orders not carried out?

4. In your opinion, why was our nation so utterly unprepared for an attack on our own soil?

5. U.S. Navy Captain Deborah Loewer, the Director of the White House Situation Room, informed you of the first airliner hitting Tower One of the World Trade Center before you entered the Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida. Please explain the reason why you decided to continue with the scheduled classroom visit, fifteen minutes after learning the first hijacked airliner had hit the World Trade Center.

6. Is it normal procedure for the Director of the White House Situation Room to travel with you? If so, please cite any prior examples of when this occurred. If not normal procedure, please explain the circumstances that led to the Director of the White House Situation Room being asked to accompany you to Florida during the week of September 11th.

7. What plan of action caused you to remain seated after Andrew Card informed you that a second airliner had hit the second tower of the World Trade Center and America was clearly under attack? Approximately how long did you remain in the classroom after Card's message?

8. At what time were you made aware that other planes were hijacked in addition to Flight 11 and Flight 175? Who notified you? What was your course of action as Commander-in-Chief of the United States?

9. Beginning with the transition period between the Clinton administration and your own, and ending on 9/11/01, specifically what information (either verbal or written) about terrorists, possible attacks and targets, did you receive from any source?
This would include briefings or communications from:
* Out-going Clinton officials
* CIA, FBI, NSA, DoD and other intelligence agencies
* Foreign intelligence, governments, dignitaries or envoys
* National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice
* Richard Clarke, former counterterrorism czar

10. Specifically, what did you learn from the August 6, 2001, PDB about the terrorist threat that was facing our nation? Did you request any follow-up action to take place? Did you request any further report be developed and/or prepared?


11. As Commander-in-Chief, from May 1, 2001 until September 11, 2001, did you receive any information from any intelligence agency official or agent that UBL was planning to attack this nation on its own soil using airplanes as weapons, targeting New York City landmarks during the week of September 11, 2001 or on the actual day of September 11, 2001?

12. What defensive measures did you take in response to pre-9/11 warnings from eleven nations about a terrorist attack, many of which cited an attack in the continental United States? Did you prepare any directives in response to these actions? If so, with what results?

13. As Commander-in-Chief from May 1, 2001 until September 11, 2001, did you or any agent of the U,S, government carry out any negotiations or talks with UBL, an agent of UBL, or al-Qaeda? During that same period, did you or any agent of the U.S. government carry out any negotiations or talks with any foreign government, agents, or officials regarding UBL? If so, what resulted?

14. Your schedule for September 11, 2001 was in the public domain since September 7, 2001. The Emma E. Booker School is only five miles from the Bradenton Airport, so you, and therefore the children in the classroom, might have been a target for the terrorists on 9/11. What was the intention of the Secret Service in allowing you to remain in the Emma E. Booker Elementary School, even though they were aware America was under attack?

15. Please explain why you remained at the Sarasota, Florida, Elementary School for a press conference after you had finished listening to the children read, when as a terrorist target, your presence potentially jeopardized the lives of the children?

16. What was the purpose of the several stops of Air Force One on September 11th? Was Air Force One at any time during the day of September 11th a target of the terrorists? Was Air Force One's code ever breached on September 11th?

17. Was there a reason for Air Force One lifting off without a military escort, even after ample time elapsed to allow military jets to arrive?

18. What prompted your refusal to release the information regarding foreign sponsorship of the terrorists, as illustrated in the inaccessible 28 redacted pages in the Joint Intelligence Committee Inquiry Report? What actions have you personally taken since 9/11 to thwart foreign sponsorship of terrorism?

19. Who approved the flight of the bin Laden family out of the United States when all commercial flights were grounded, when there was time for only minimal questioning by the FBI, and especially, when two of those same individuals had links to WAMY, a charity suspected of funding terrorism? Why were bin Laden family members granted that special privilege � a privilege not available to American families whose loved ones were killed on 9/11?

20. Please explain why no one in any level of our government has yet been held accountable for the countless failures leading up to and on 9/11?

21. Please comment on the fact that UBL's profile on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives poster does not include the 9/11 attacks. To your knowledge, when was the last time any agent of our government had contact with UBL? If prior to 9/11, specifically what was the date of that contact and what was the context of said meeting.

22. Do you continue to maintain that Saddam Hussein was linked to al Qaeda? What proof do you have of any connection between al-Qaeda and the Hussein regime?

23. Which individuals, governments, agencies, institutions, or groups may have benefited from the attacks of 9/11? Please state specifically how you think they have benefited.

The good news is that I was acquitted on both counts of Disorderly Conduct. The American people would have never allowed such dramatic rollbacks in civil liberties at home and the launching of two wars overseas had it not been for one event . . . 9-11. 9-11 gave the Bush Administration and Pentagon hawks cart blanche to turn the world upside down. It frightened Americans into answering the age old question "guns or butter?" with a resounding answer of "GUNS!!" The problem is, the "official" 9-11 story does not hold water. 9-11 families in mass are filing litigations to demand full 9-11 disclosure. However, they need the support of the peace movement to gain a larger voice. Why should the peace & justice movement be involved in 9-11 truth actions?

Bush has persuaded Americans that to stop future 9-11 terrorist type strikes, we need A) Endless wars, and B) Reduced Liberty at home. The truth is that neither is necessary, the only thing required was for Bush et al to DO THEIR JOBS before and on 9-11, which they did not. President Bush actually ordered the FBI's head of counter terrorism to "back off" the Bin Laden and Al Qaeda investigations before 9-11. All airforce hijacked flight intercept procedures were violated on 9-11, and 9-11 widow Ellen Mariani's attorney is charging that this could only have happened if someone had issued a "stand down" order on 9-11. Oddly, immediately after 9-11 when other planes were grounded throughout the U.S., Bush allowed private jets to spirit Bin Laden family members and other Saudi royals out of the U.S. with no substantive questioning from the FBI. Insider stock trades profiting off the coming attacks of United and American airlines were made at a bank with known CIA connections, AB Brown Trust. The current head of AB Brown resigned on 9-11-2001, leaving behind $2.5 million in unclaimed "winnings" from someone who had bet AGAINST United and American Airlines stocks "the day before" 9-11. If 9-11 was allowed to happen, as it appears it was, it would remove the fuel from the militaristic fires in many Americans hearts that the Bush Admin. absolutely needs to justify endless war and civil liberty rollbacks.

It is time for the peace and justice movement to get behind heroes like Mrs. Ellen Mariani, Kristin Breitweiser, and Mindy Klienburg, 9-11 widows who are fighting for a truth that may unravel the entire Bush "endless war" agenda. Mrs. Mariani's attorney in her suit against Bush, stated that Mrs. Mariani's goal is to end Bush's endless illegal wars, to recover civil rights in America, and to end Bush's manipulation of the American people by shamelessly using 9-11, an event that he allowed to happen for personal political gain, and is now covering up.

Mrs. Mariani and her attorney Phil Berg, former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania, recently spoke in Kansas City to capacity crowds at several metro churches, and were interviewed by local ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX News affiliates, as well as The Kansas City Star.

A subtle and silent revolution for truth is beginning to boil across North America, and beyond. The 911Visibility.org Movement has emerged in the United States in response to 9-11 widow, Ellen Mariani's, historic lawsuit against G.W. Bush et al for complicity in allowing the 9-11 attacks to occur and for his subsequent "attempted" 9-11 cover up. Long Island Press wrote last week that www.911visibility.org is giving Americans demanding 9-11 truth a voice.

Bush's cover up is about to be thwarted. The 911Visibility.org Project released it's new website www.septembereleventh.org to 100,000 hits from visitors in the first two weeks of it's launch. It's purpose is many fold. To empower ordinary people to contact media and governments worldwide to demand a full and complete disclosure of all relevant 9-11 facts. It seeks to engage the mainstream peace & justice movement in the 9-11 truth movement. It provides step-by-step manuals on how to organize local 9-11 Visibility Projects, from organizing to media outreach, and by forming coalitions of existing peace & justice groups.

The National 911Visibility.org Project was modeled on broad based peace & justice coalition efforts in Seattle and Kansas City, where hundreds demonstrated, got local media coverage, lobbied the local newspaper into condemning Bush's 9-11 cover up, and handed out many thousands of leaflets on the 9-11 cover up, as well as organizing public teach ins at churches etc.

Howard Dean called to attention the rumours that Bush was warned by the Saudi's of the coming 9-11 attacks BEFORE they occurred, and Dean asserted that this is exactly why we need FULL disclosure from the Bush Administration regarding 9-11. John Kerry recently demanded full 9-11 disclosure from the Bush administration as well. Former 9-11 Commissioner, Max Cleland, on CNN stated that Bush's obstructions of the 9-11 investigation were "DISGUSTING" and a "SCAM," and that in fact "America is being scammed!" CNN's Aaron Brown condemned Hastert's attempt to cut short the 9-11 Commission, and urged his viewers to call Congress to demand an extension of the 9-11 Commission deadline. The 9-11 movement seeks to build on these bold assertions, to create a mass movement calling attention to the Bush obstruction of the 9-11 investigation.

For 2 long years Bush has attempted to thwart any real 9-11 investigation. Ellen Mariani's suit against Bush et al under the RICO Act for racketeering, is the catalyst to demand truth. Bush tried to buy her off with a $1 MILLION "settlement," but Mariani said, "I'd rather eat dirt . . .". Mrs. Mariani's courageous act must not go unsupported by mainstream peace & justice activists.

We are at a critical point in human history. Americans are willing to be led into shameful acts, so long as they are terrorized into thinking that is the only way they can avoid future 9-11 type strikes. To expose the truth that 9-11 was allowed to happen by an administration that needed the strike to further it's own political ambitions will provide a shock therapy that can wake Americans up. It will be the healthiest possible thing that could happen right now.

"The Truth shall set you free."

Get involved today, and urge all other activists and activist organizations to get involved. The truth is ripe, it yearns to be broken free, but it will take a concerted effort by the movement to break the truth through the corporate media shroud that has thus far contained it. This week the Ellen Marinari suit was mentioned in some North American media. Together we can force it out to the mainstream public.

Roughly in America there are 40% who will love Bush no matter what he does. There are about 40% who have a visceral distaste for Bush no matter what he does. The 20% swing voters lean to Bush due to the carefully nurtured myth that Bush=Security. Of course the opposite is true, because evidence shows Bush allowed 9-11 to occur. So, to expose the Mariani suit to the general public, will result in Bush losing in a landslide in 2004, and THEN the truth of 9-11 can come out. We are at a historic moment. American Nobel Laureate Toni Morrison wrote, "We may be witnessing the Nazification of our nation." The Irish Nobel Laureate, Seamus Heaney, wrote, "We are living in a moment where hope and history rhyme."

Here is my letter which I will continue to fax out next week:
Dear Honorable ..............:

I have been following the Independent 9-11 Commission with increasing interest. Many citizens have become aware that 9-11 is NOT a partisan political issue. Growing numbers of American citizens are realizing that the overriding concern of honest government is a fundamental matter which affects ALL Americans.

The way that President Bush has stonewalled the 9-11 investigation has been very suspicious. Instead of cooperating with this bi-partisan commission, there appears a continual obfuscation from key members of the administration.

President Bush has a duty to the American people to testify to ALL commission members and give a complete accounting of facts that he has about September 11th. His offer to appear for ONE hour is a blatant insult and slap in the face to every citizen of this country and makes a mockery of our democracy.

I urge you to honor your oath to the American people and take actions to call those who were in charge at the time surrounding 9-11 to testify under OATH to the FULL Commission. These people would obviously include President Bush, Vice-President Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, Donald Rumsfield, Gen. Richard Myers etc. It is also imperative that the Presidential Daily Briefing of August 9th be given to the FULL Commission as evidence.

Decency also demands that President Bush be sworn in to answer the 9-11 Family Steering Committee legitimate twenty three questions.

If this Independent 9-11 Commission is to have even a shred of credibility in the future, the people in charge of the failed security of 9-11 must be called to legally testify. Anything less from your position clearly shows a complicit weakness and looks extremely suspect to ANY Americans who are paying a modicum of attention.
