St. Louis DUers- Prepare to mobilize on Cards Opening Day!
Word on the streets is that President Shit-For-Brains is going to throw out the first pitch at the Cardinals opener. Let's make sure he feels the lack of a warm welcome and that St. Louis doesn't appreciate him barging in on one of St. Louis' greatest traditions for a cheap campaign stunt. The Cardinals organization, its history, and its fans deserve better than this insulting display. The best part is that they will have a hard time keeping us from being out there on the sidewalk with our signs of protest. I also urge you to send emails to the Cards PR dept to express your disapproval. I'm currently trying to locate a contact address, so once I can find that I'll add it. Anyone interested in making an appearance (if the visit does, in fact, happen) send me a message.

2. Are you kidding me?
God, what a total f***wad. AGHHHHH! I knew they were going to fight for MO because of the measuring stick thing, MO being kind of the lucky charm of the election, having swung with the winner every time in the last 100 yrs except once (and twice if you included the selected fraud*). I'll be there but I usually am on opening day.

9. Hi there GumboYaYa!
I'm doing just fine today. Yesterday was a different story, actually the past six days or so have been sort of trying. How are you?

3. Count me in on that.
If he is going to be here, I'll talk to SEIU and get them out to protest.

I think we need to start protesting every place Bush goes.

5. What if we loudly BOO the warmonger-in-chief from the stands?
I'm not a St. Louis Cardinals fan, I'm an Atlanta Braves fan. However, I live in Columbia, Missouri and if I can get off work that day, I would be willing to drive over for the game just to have the pleasure of "BOO"-ing the White House Squatter when he steps onto the mound.

6. I'm from Columbia too
been living in the Lou for 7 months now. Columbia's a great town and I miss it at times. I wish I could afford the tickets for the game, because I'd be all up his ass with boos and jeers. Alas, I'll have to do it from the outside.

7. It's a good thing Chicago will never vote Bush, keeps him out of Wrigley
But as a fan of the greatest baseball rivalry in history, I have long respected the Cardinals organization and fans, and I feel horrible that Cards fans will have to endure this political stunt. We all know Bush is a big baseball fan, but if he wants to throw out a pitch, how about going to Texas?

Isn't there an aircraft carrier somewhere he can land on?

8. Maybe they can bring one in
and dock it on the Mississippi. Then Georgie can fly between the legs of the Arch, do a couple of loops (to a chorus of "Rock You Like a Hurricane" being blared over loudspeakers) and touch down! It will be AMAZING!!!!

No but seriously, this crap sickens me.

I'm really looking forward to the Cards/Cubs games this year. I have tix to a game here and in Chicago in June. It's going to be a really interesting division race this year and we'll see even more spirited games than we've ever seen before. The Cubs are going to be damn good this year (I hope Prior is healthy. Even though he's a Cub, I have great respect for him and love to watch him pitch.). I think the Cards are going to be in the race this year, but the Cubs definitely positioned themselves to win the division. It's going to be a fun year.

Seems some St Louis area DUers might want to practice a little activism... posting here because of the local connection.
