I'm throwing a party for my friends in early May (wanted to make it Mayday, but alas, I will be in New Mexico).
It will be one of my usual knock-down drag-outs with loads of booze, food, music.
But this time we're going to have networked computers ready to accept party-goes contributions to
http://contribute.johnkerry.com and a couple of other worthy sites on the web. We will also have voter registration forms, mail-in contribution envelopes for key campaigns, groups, and bumper-stickers and buttons. We'll be showing Bob Roberts upstairs, and maybe even the moveon dvd on the Iraq War lies (if they ever send it to me).
Most of my friends are really dialed in on the campaign, but many haven't taken the time to make a contribution yet. I think we'll get a really good crew from Seattle as well as a lot of the Portland folks.
Any copying of this idea and/or feedback on how to make the party better would be greatly appreciated.
