Kucinich: U.S. troops should leave Iraq
link

Now that Saddam Hussein has been captured, it's the perfect time for U.S. troops to leave Iraq, presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich said Sunday.

Ohio Congressman Kucinich, who has voiced opposition to the war from the beginning, called for the United States to pull out of Iraq and leave the oil, reconstruction contracts and the future of Iraq's government to the United Nations.
(...)
Kucinich also spoke briefly concerning the ABC television network's decision to pull its "embedded" reporter from Kucinich's campaign. Kucinich was told of the decision Wednesday, the day after a televised debate in New Hampshire at which the candidate took issue with moderator Ted Koppel for avoiding campaign topics and instead questioning the candidates about "endorsements, money and polls."

"What right does major corporate media have to tell you these are your candidates?" Kucinich asked. "The American people are looking for candidates who stand up to corporate America. It is not appropriate for the media to tell the people of the United States that these are your candidates and these are not."

5. LOL!
You're so right. All the 'we can't cut and run' BS is predicated on kneeling at the altar of corporate cashola. We would never offend those who lobby us so generously, could we? (that's the royal 'we')

I heard a congressman call Diane Rehm's show on Friday ... he said that Bu$hCo had gone to a LOT of trouble to ensure that the money the taxpayers forked over for Iraq's reconstruction (and we know where that's going) would be a gift and not a loan. He then pointed out that we are now going around and imploring everyone to forgive Iraq's debts. Well... not everyone.

It seems that Saudi Arabia is not being asked to forgive any loans. And if I remember what he said correctly, they own Iraq's largest loans. So if he was right, that means that we taxpayers funded Iraq's ability to repay Saudi Arabia.

WTF?!

And get ready to hear that and "running will only embolden the terrorist" crap for the next 5 years or so, till our copters frantically lift out of Bahgdad.

Other than stealing resources, the only thing left to do is stablize the country, which isn't going to be done by any white english speaking organizations (US, UN, NATO). People are dreaming to think that. Its time to pull out not cause "we" are running, but to pursue a solution which is actually going to produce the most good for the most people (if only we were altruistic, but such isn't so).

It's time to give Iraq a chance to become what it wants. After all, England and the US have been bossing them since... what... 1918? Before?

8. Hey! This is good news!

Finding Saddam means we can just come home and save that $87 billion. No need to spend it all over there. Mission accomplished!

Right? Mr. President? Right?
