My Favorite MoveOn.org Ad (So Far): "Child's Pay"

What do you all think of that one?

Background: MoveOn.org is running a judging competition to rate various "Bush in 30 Seconds" ads that have been submitted by grassroots filmmakers. MoveOn will run lots of TV ads during the upcoming election season.

2. Oh, my! That one is excellent!
What number is it? I'll be giving it fives all the way, when I get to it.

4. I Don't Know the Number
I didn't know the ads have numbers. But it's called "Child's Pay," so look for that when you get to it.

I think that ending is intended to allow "MoveOn.org" to be flashed on the screen. It seems to have a little extra "pad" footage for that purpose.

I also like the fact it doesn't try to do too much. You really can't do too much in 30 seconds anyway.

And I love the music. Did you notice how it's timed precisely with the video? Very well done.

It's also scenes of manual laborers, so very blue color. Not demeaning, though. But it has the suggestion of going backwards, not forwards, with the Bush Administration.

Did you notice the SUV in the fourth scene? :-)

3. Has That "Morning in America" Feel to It, Doesn't It?
Although in a reverse sort of way.

6. I Don't Really
It's funny and all, but if you're going to spend lots of money advertising, shouldn't the ad be persuasive? I find way too many of the ad submissions heavyhanded, including that one.

7. I actually agree with that
I suppose I should have clarified: I like it as a statement, not as the ad MoveOn will use.

8. Does anyone know how I can get help viewing the ads?
I submitted one and have been completely frustrated trying to see any of the others. I've got a dial-up connection, and managed to see mine after about 30 minutes, but the two others I've tried with I've given up on after an hour. From what I can make out, they've taken the discussion part off of the site (I can understand why, but it's still frustrating)and they haven't replied to my attempt to contact them. Our local library doesn't have sound and that's all I could think of. I don't want to miss seeing what the others looked like!
