When will DK drop out?
Seriously... will he pull a Keyes or will he drop like Gary Bauer?

2. After the election is complete, I expect.
What would be the point of 'dropping out' any other time?

Five of the nine or more will be gone after March.

26. The way things look now, try six or seven...
But that could all change come the actual primaries.

4. Hopefully soon.
He's drawing away many voters from Edwards. Nice guy, though.

23. His supporters wouldn't go to Edwards anyway.
AS much as I like Edwards, Edwards voting record is not good with respect to the environment. He's better than Dean but it will take some work to get the environmentalists to vote for him. Personally I like the idea of having a trial attorney in the White House and I've seen Edwards improve his position on other issues. So if he gets the nomination, I would have no problem supporting him.

I think Sharpton and Kerry are the second choices for most DK supporters. DK and Sharpton are drawing a lot from each other and I wish these two would work out a deal and present a united front and consolidate their votes.

10. I have no idea, but . . .
Dennis Kucinich is not going to be President of the United States, not in this election nor any in the future.

He is, however, a very effective message candidate. Therefore, while one might see Kerry, Lieberman or Gephardt dropping out after poor showings in the early primaries, Kucinich could conceivably stay in the race while finishing even lower than the others just to articulate that message. The others named really want to be president. Each would be wasting his time to continue running if he is not going to win. Kucinich has other motivations.

I agree with Mr. Kucinich on the issues more than the other candidates; however, I believe he lacks the mettle needed to be an effective president. Nevertheless, I'm glad he's running. It isn't a waste of either his time or ours that he is. Kucinich is the kind of candidate who can tell Ted Koppel where to get off; somebody needs to tell those who work for the corporate media that they have failed to do their jobs and why. A candidate more likely to win would have to be too circumspect to do that. Kucinich could and did beautifully.

While I have my misgivings about the kind of president Mr. Kucinich would make, and while I believe he (not Howard Dean) would be the candidate to lead the Democrats down to a McGovern-like disaster, I may vote for him in the California primary. If I seriously thought he could win the nomination, I probably wouldn't. Nevertheless, I could vote for him in the spirit of saying, "Attaboy, Dennis!"

As a Dean supporter I say let him be.

12. Wrong question.
I take this opportunity to express the ardent hope that George W. Bush drop out of the 2004 race for President.

The original message asked when Kucinich will drop out. The question before us as Democrats is when Bush should dropout. He has failed to unite the country and he is terrifying our allies.

Bush is less articulate than any of the nine announced Democrats running for the White House. He is less visionary than any of the nine as well. He is less, period.

Given the monstrous failures in the national budget, the war in Iraq, and in many other areas, I feel it is time to call for Mr. Bush to step down.

13. A thought...
Although I do not want him to drop out (nor think his candidacy will be fruitful unforts), I also do not want him to lose his seat. Perhaps the most good for all the people could be accomplish if he were to make sure of his future involvement in government. If he continues to run, will his term run out? Thoughts on this from DK supporters? Are you willing to lose this Congress member even if you recognize that his time will not be fruitful? Honestly, I think this is a tough call, because idealism and utilitarianism can most definately clash.

14. Why is it always DK who is supposed to drop out?
Maybe because some people have a vested interest in the status quo?

15. There is no reason he must...
But address my question though. Despite the fact that I like Kucinich and realize the neccessity of his message, would he bring the most good for the people by expressing that message for the next few months, or by retaining his Congressional seat and participating in the system for a few more years? Does the idealistic stance get in the way of a more pragmatic utilitarianism, in which he could bring a far better tommorrow to the people? There is no way to peer into the future and see what each result would be, but he is a good man and I know how much he is needed in government. Whatever option produces the best chance for him to participate and make a positive difference, Id opt for.

America is out of touch with hope. Dennis is perfectly in tune with human progress, it's the rest of the country that's lagging behind him.

That's why the Republicans are pushing so hard for Dean. They want to run against a candidate they can beat

He has no reason to drop out, frankly, because dropping out gains him and his agenda no 'place at the table', come convention time.

He's told many of us that he is in to stay and running to win.
You really shouldn't speak for him..

Lack of success?? according to you evidently.

You don't have a clue ... DK will not ever "drop out"...he's in til the decision is made...and I will be cheering at his inauguration by the way!

Peace

There have been some people on his staff who have a different agenda but, if you see him, you know he's serious when he talks about his Presidency.

31. Kucinich has common sense......
......I believe that our countrys over reaction to hyper-patriotism on a wing and a prayer has run its course.....level-headedness will return to the voting booths and DK will be poised to capture the heartbeat of our country simply by staying on message.....maybe he represents the conscience of our country whose time has come.....
