I have been crunching the numbers....
Since 1/3rd of those challenger candidates who spend $900,000 or more are successful against incumbents, then a goal of raising a cool million for candidates who could challenge in Federal and State elections could be raised a little at a time....
For example:
10,000 people, giving .25 a day for two years, would raise $1,825,000!
That's $91.25 a year.....
Or $7.61 a month....
100,000 people would raise $18,250,000 over the same amount of time....
If we could set up a PAC, do some research on those districts we feel would be vulnerable across the country, we could set up some state level and federal level payment plans, where money is raised, than candidates are invited from the competitive districts, and contributors vote on who will get the money to run for an election?
Whadya think?
If we could get 100,000 people signed up to this...we could fund at least 10 House races and about 15 state races....
The more people we sign up, the more races.....people could also put in lump sums as well, as long as we don't go beyond election restrictions!!
I think this is where we could go after the election process...developing something akin to EMILY's list, but for progressive-liberal candidates who appeal to the donors themselves.....sound good?
