CIGNA study says GOP are liars/wrong - 401k type plans do not interest
the young folk - those born after 1979.

Sort of shits on Social Security separate accounts, Medical Savings Accounts, higher tax free savings limits, IBM and other Fortune 500 folks dropping defined benefit plans in favor of "cash balance plans" that screw those over 50 - indeed it brings up the question of IS ALL THE GOP PARTY PLATFORM BULLSHIT JUST ABOUT MAKING THE WEALTHY MORE WEALTHY, AND THE MIDDLECLASS LESS SO?

"CIGNA Survey Finds 401(k)s Fail to Engage America's Youngest Workers
The PR Newswire (3/2) reports on CIGNA's most recent Workplace Report on Retirement Planning, which found that 401(k) plans aren't attracting the youngest workers, thouse people born after 1979. The study found the rate of non-participation among this group to be failing to engage America's youngest workers, calling into question the 401(k)'s long-term contribution to individual wealth and its value to employers as a tool to attract and retain top talent."

1. They don't have the money to put away.....
With wages stagnate for 20 years. How in the world could they?
Another question, could you buy the house that you live in now with your salary?

2. They're not interested because they can't afford to fund them.
And with old age off in the far distant future, scrimping to put money aside for retirement when they're just barely getting by now isn't a priority.

3. Which is why the forced savings of a defined benefit plan vested
benefit is really what should sold.

Likewise the tax cost of Medical Savings account should be used to fund single payer national health.

Indeed every item in the GOP platform has a tax cost for a benefit that barely hits some, if any of the middle class.

I guess I am a Dem because I am angry about that!

among a few other gripes!

:-)
