Nader must quit!
This election is so important it would be criminal for Nader to help Bush back into the White House. The latest AP poll...

John Kerry and President Bush are tied while independent Ralph Nader has captured enough support to affect the outcome in the race for the presidency, according to a poll conducted for The Associated Press by Ipsos-Public Affairs.

Are you people crazy!

3. The Nader supporters on this board are probably Bush infiltrators
I'm convinced. No one could be that stupid to not see the damage that Nader is doing to this country. These Nader supporters who frequent this board must be Bush infiltrators.

PS, I don't care if this is productive. I only care about defeating the worst president in 228 years.

4. Agreed.
As badly as I would like some party variety, we can't afford to allow Bush to have another term, or most other Republicans for that matter.

5. I don't like the Republicans either...

but if Kerry is liberal enough, he shouldn't have to worry about votes going to Nader. If Kerry is liberal enough, such a thing will not even happen.

6. Exactly. It's not Nader's responsibility to take care of Kerry.
If Kerry wants the votes that would go to Nader, then he needs to have policies that attract those voters. That's democracy.

7. You guys had the opportunity to keep Nader on the sidelines
But too few people took it. So now you pay the price. I have no sympathy, honestly.

8. Yes...
basically threatening people into supporting Kucinich really builds-up the unity and good feelings towards each other in the party. Honestly. :eyes:

9. I don't think "unity and good feelings" cut any ice, do they?
Surely the goal is a good tomorrow, not kissy-face?

10. Anybody but a republicrat...
Looking at the federal election results for 2000, 1.4% of eligible voters voted for Nader. 48.7% of eligible voters did not vote. Exit polling shows of Nader voters, 46% would have voted for Gore if Nader hadn't run, 54% would not have voted for Gore. This means that <0.7% of eligible voters were people who would have voted for Gore if Nader hadn't run.

On the other hand, 48.7% of eligible voters did not vote. And, as a group, non-voters are less wealthy than voters, and more likely to vote for a party that speaks to, and is run by, the working class.

One wonders why there is so much effort by some Democrats to try and silence and shun the only candidate who is AGAINST NAFTA, the only candidate who regularly says Taft-Hartley should be abolished, the only candidate who would break from the kind of foreign policy Clinton practiced, the only candidate who doesn't get big PAC donations, and so forth.

I guess the answer is that the Democrats are really the interests of the DLC heads of it (Kerry is DLC, like Clinton was). These people do not represent me.

Yes, I would rather vote for someone who represents me and lose an election or two, than vote for a candidate who can just win and will take any position. If I just wanted to win, what would be the difference if I was for Kerry or Bush?
