Tomorrow night, Tuesday Aug. 5, the nine Democratic presidential candidates working to beat President Bush in next year's election will join thousands of union members at the AFL-CIO's Working Families Presidential Forum in Chicago.

You can watch the entire forum when it is broadcast LIVE on C-SPAN beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern time (7 p.m. Central).

Over the last couple of years, e-activists like you have taken action on scores of issues from overtime pay, Medicare and corporate accountability to worker struggles for justice in the face of employer resistance to workers who are forming their union or fighting for the pay, benefits and working conditions they deserve.

Now, we need to gear up for our biggest fight ever—voting in a president who will be a champion for working families. Tune into the forum broadcast and learn more about how these candidates will tackle working family issues. Starting on Wednesday, you'll be able to view video clips from the forum.

Thanks for all that you do.

1. The future of working people in this nation may be decided right there.

I think we are going to see some obvious pandering by some, who all of a sudden, became more "labor-friendly."And we are going to see the ones who have a record of standing up for labor, the right to organize, who want to repeal sections of the Taft Harley Act, who want to keep our good jobs from going overseas...

THIS IS A MUST WATCH PROGRAM FOR ALL THOSE WHO WANT TO BE INFORMED!!
Organized labor and working people in general may just bite the dust if we do not pick a strong labor candidate.

2. Boy, isn't THAT the truth
I heard this is the earliest that major labor has endorsed, with the endorsement of Gephardt for the nomination. It'd be a real shame to see someone ambivalent to the problems labor faces in free trade agreements to get the nomination, and then see major labor go Republican again.
