a poem inspired by the edwards camapign
What will you say when America's gone?

What will you say when America's gone?
I was too busy shopping and running around

I don't have to worry,
The military has boots on the ground

Political pundits will think for me now
And I don't dare make a sound

What will you say when America's gone?
When personal freedom is just a long forgotten noun

Fear became my very best friend
If I embraced it enough, life as I know it, may never end

I cling to my stuff for which I will pay any price
Be it habeas corpus, torture or allowing Congress any sexual vice

Truth doesn't matter as long as I get
My new flat screen hd television set

I sold my soul because the pundits said I didn't need it
Now that it's gone I can hardly bear it

My ancestors swore "give me liberty or give me death"
While I was busy making my Super Bowl bet

Jefferson warned about the future tyranny of medicine
Yet he trusted us too far, and look what has happened

What will you say when America's gone?
That you just never thought we'd end up just like Rome

Despite all our gadgets, we haven't come far
Because we never learned,
that our real treasure was us

each and every one.

1. The Art of Seduction....RE: Obama/Clinton....think about it
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 04:46 PM by Triana
"Charm, persuasion, the ability to create illusions: these are some of the many dazzling gifts of the Seducer, the compelling figure who is able to manipulate, mislead, and give pleasure all at once. When raised to the level of art, seduction, an indirect and subtle form of power, has toppled empires, won elections, and enslaved great minds."

Are we (collectively) going to be seduced, or will we support THE person who can actually BRING REAL CHANGE to this country and who has the intelligence and courage to address the REAL ISSUES -- at their core? I suspect the majority of Americans will continue to be seduced...sad, but true.

3. I prayed for John Edwards.............
........to receive favor from God in this Election. He should be the favored one!! He rewards those who are good and John Edwards is a good one..that's for sure.

We'll just have to keep supporting and know something good will come out of all of this. He sends a great message!!
