United Technologies makes offer for Diebold - trick voting machine manufacturer.
Apparently UTC wants to have a little tighter control over election results than it can get through contributing to Republican candidates campaign coffers. With UTC's money they can expand production of Diebold's trick vote counters and beat out competition and have their machines all across the country. Democratic party will only be read about in history books (if in the future they don't start burning history books that include apocryphal material).

Shares of Diebold (DBD) soared more than 60% Monday following a $2.63 billion takeover bid from United Technologies (UTX) for the ballot and cash machine company.

Diebold, for those who recall, was the company tha guaranteed Ohio for the Repubs in 2004.
