http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/ns/msnbc_tv-rachel_maddow_show/#44825335Rachel and guest Harvard professor Lawrence Lessig discuss campaign financing. Lessig explains how fund raising is driving the agenda in Congress, and guess what - unemployment doesn't raise a lot of money.
Better, Lessig puts forth a proposal to solve this issue. Each citizen would be given a $50 voucher that could be donated to candidate(s) of their choice and each would be allowed to donate $100 on top of that.
A candidate can either accept these donations or independent funding. In theory, this $6.5B could drown such independent funding (about $2B last time around).
Interesting proposal worthy of consideration.
