It's not just Ron Paul's ability to do well in straw polls that's the problem. It's the mechanism of the polls themselves. The failure of the media to recognize this lends legitimacy to an oft-heard criticism of media types: that they're vulnerable to manipulation by P.R. machines, spin doctors, campaign managers and corporate propaganda.
