and possible presidential candidate, Wesley Clark, favors ending the
ban. Once people absorb change, they relax—or so activists with a
sense of history believe. But Klein warns, "You'd have to be an idiot
to ignore these numbers."


Which do you prefer. "President Clark" or "President Welsey Clark" or "President Gen. Wesley Clark". Better start practicing now for January of 2005. :)

I would be interested if you can find a link. Funny name by the way, I like it.

I think he probably did if that is case. I know most the time he was in the military he favored the same policy as the British. Remember, he worked with gays he was the NATO Supreme Commander and all of the European nations already except gays in the military.

3. An answer that is VERY undemocratic

It should not be 'up to the military' because is is not 'the military's business', it's OUR business because it's OUR military. (Or is it?)

6. Some things yes, others not

I don't think we should take a vote in the general public on how many tanks or MiG's to buy. I think that Clark has to respect the members of the Military in incorperating the decison. Otherwise, we could lose lots of good military people jumping out of the service. I want the ban lifted, but it has to be carefully and respectfully. Not forced to much, we don't have a draft.

4. Sometime back on Crossfire

General Clark was asked about openly allowing Homosexuals in the military. He said he would leave that decision to the service chiefs. I recommend he consult with the Chiefs on the best way to implement such an idea, like, JUST DO IT. I think he will eventually come around. It makes about as much sense to ban gays from joining the military as it does to ban gay marriages. Such actions are just a reflection of the medieval thoughts of todays homophobic haters. The conservatives of the 21st Century are certainly not uniters. I'm a retired Navy Vet and I look forward to General Clark getting in the race. I don't know who I will support in the Democratic Primary however I believe he offers a big positive for the cause. And what a helluva running mate he would make for someone. I also look forward to some dumbass chickenhawk questioning his patriotism and the pending response from the public.

Why Dean Can Not Win the General Election

1) He is known for his Civil Unions bill. He is tagged permently by the right and media as being someone that is going to give gays equal rights. This is a real fear amoung many conservatives and moderates in the Southern and Western States. He will never be able to shake the pro-gay label and will lose 2 votes for every one he gets in key moderate states.

How ridiculous can this still get, I wonder...
