What will happen to CA,?
With a three ring circus for a recall election, what will happen to politics there?

2. I think California will
seceed to Canada due to anger if Bush wins in 2004. I think the Repubs will wind up in peices in CA over the recall, never to rise again.

3. Give California back to the Indians and Mexicans
They did a better job with it for 16,000 years anyway, we messed it up in just 165 years.

4. Actually things were pretty good here 25 years ago
The air was more polluted than it is today, but the public school system was one of the best in the US. When I started at UCSD in the fall of 1975 with mediocre high school grades and a good SAT score, the registration fee for CA residents was just $158 per quarter. By the time I graduated in 1980 the fee had more than doubled. Housing was expensive compared to the rest of the nation but nowhere near what it is now. Energy costs were reasonable and taxes moderate. Everywhere except LA and the Bay Area, you could get on any freeway and drive at full speed any time of the day.

Now the primary and secondary schools are a disaster and it's very difficult to get accepted into UC. We have a huge energy crisis looming, sales tax has almost doubled, and housing costs are through the roof. I face savage traffic every day, and I'm worried about my job all the time.

Other than that, the weather is still great, food is plentiful, and the beer has gotten a lot better.

6. I think we should go to the State Supreme Court
and launch a continuous protest until they do their job and hear the cases. They cannot just abandon their duties. There are State Constitutional issues involved in the cases they are refusing to hear.
