As always, Sen.Kerry was most articulate. He did well.

Gov.Dean seemed a bit off and missed a chance to win over the
hall in his closing remarks.

Dick Gephardt knows how to work a union hall and scored points
with a back & forth from the crowd.

Kudos to Kucinich, who has come down from the rafters and finally
stopped with the screaming style. (bonus points)

Sharpton had a great line about kicking the donkey...

but the most impressive award tonight goes to Carol Moseley Braun,
who well articulated the enormous sense loss America has suffered of both respect and political capital under the unfortunate Bush reign, calling it simply,"a failed administration".

3. basically i agree...

though I attribute Dean only having an average showing on the panel to the pre-forum rally with 4,000 supporters outside. That event clearly took some energy out of him, but b/c it was so publicized/well covered, it might have been a decent trade off seeing as how no one is really watching these forums under a microscope anyway.

also have to disagree with the general feeling on CMB. She has a few good zingers, and is a "nice" person, but that's about it (as far as my level of interest in her campaign is, i mean).

4. Kerry was a pompous ass

With his ridiculous pontificating, so obviously impressed with himself, running over his allotted time on every question. Now he has embraced the DLC line of aping Bush's act on national security, claiming that his shameful vote was in the interest of protecting the American people. What a pathetic Democratic offering, claiming his health care proposal had the highest rating, when it has been disputed by those who supposedly graded it.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the Kerry campaign had to arrange for people to meet with Kerry when he stopped in town for a cheese steak. Dean was greeted by over 600 supporters---who would you think resonates with the base? If Kerry wins the nomination, it will be a back-room deal and all the activated Democratic faithful will feel betrayed.

There is no question that I hold a negative view of Kerry and every time I see him, my estimation sinks further. It is obvious that he is listing Right, rather than championing the Democratic stand. Another example of a losing strategy which only serves to illustrate how out of touch Kerry is with the reality of most American's lives since he endorses the Right's dominating perception to base his own stand, rather that offering a challenging argument.

I almost fell asleep when he began to talk, but I can't deny that I usually agree with him.

I like when Dean backhandedly smacked him over the comment on how little Vermont is.

6. You agree with his justification to support Bush

and his holy, single-minded crusade, by relinquishing his constitutional responsibility?

Kerry can't claim that Bush didn't heed his warnings when he gave Bush license to act on a foundation of fabricated lies and obvious falsehoods.
Kerry gets no vote of confidence from me since he demonstrated and continues to defend a crime.

It is exasperating that, at this stage in the game, people are willing to overlook that Kerry continues to parrot the lie about Saddam throwing out the inspectors, as if we are all as misled as he is.

7. that's one big..

..reason that I support Dean over Kerry. Kerry whines that he wanted bush to fulfill Conditions A, B, and C.. before going to war, and yet he didn't stand and fight for those conditions to be included in the war resolution. There's no excuse for such politcal cowardice, or lack of heart, or whatever you wanna call it. He basically sold us out, thinking that it would cover him in his run for the Presidency. If it dooms him, I can't help but giggle at that.

Still, other than the war resolution in which he pooped-out, I agree with him at least 85% of the time.

8. I don't agree with Kerry

Abdication of responsibility is no excuse, I agree.
This is a big problem for Forbes Kerry.
I simply stated that he "spoke" well--but so did Mosley Braun.

9. He spoke in tones that would suggest

that he was the authorative final word, when many of his answers were expressly for his own vain satisfaction in hearing the sound of his own voice. Little content, lots of words leading nowhere. Of course it's boring, he isn't saying anything for anyone but himself.

There's where you hit the nail on the head,
While a patrician style is appreciated in the North East,
the "intellectual" as politician goes down very badly in the south
& mid-west and west. Viewed as "arrogant" or "condescending"...

His answers were strong, thoughtful - Presidential.

Hands down - he was the winner.
