Clark TV Ad Aired on Hardball
Barnicle Bill filling in for Tweety; did a bit on the Draft Clark organization and showed their ad. Nicely done. Barnicle ended the piece saying Clark is in no way associated with the group, "yeah right" (his words).

What was that all about? Does he think Clark's been behind the movement to draft him? I have a feeling once Clark does announce, he's gonna get pelted from those on the right who see him as a real threat to chimpy and those on the left who are worried he'll take support from Dean. Should get very, very interesting. Can't wait!

2. Why the perception that Clark would eat into Dean support?
Dean shows strongest support against Hillary, Gore and Clark. Clark would more likely eat into the other candidates support. And what of it? Can he add something to the dialogue? If so, he's welcome to join the race...

3. Yes - he will add to the dialogue
which will be a great thing. It may wake people up and get them to pay attention, even if he doesn't have a chance. My perception about Dean support - the two are quite a bit alike on the issues, underneath the four stars.

4. he'll hurt kerry more than dean
some of dean's appeal is his stance on the issues, but a lot has to do with his personality. personally, i think kerry has a lot more to lose than dean when/if clark jumps in.

5. Dean Had Better Hope They Are Not Alike
If they are too similar, Clark will definitely win on credibility and media charm. Best to hope he'll settle for VP.

6. Clark might not get the chance
to eat into the support of any candidate if the media remains focused on California. He better hope that his Labor Day announcement makes a big enough splash.

7. No worries here
Only so many times the media can say, "ARNOLD IS RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR OF CALIFRONIA". I would imagine that people will get tired of that news. OK, enough, we know and he will be governor, endo ot story.
