1. huh?
Why Bob Graham at Interior? What experience qualifies him to focus on environmental and resource-use policy?
Why Edwards at Treasury? I could kind of understand Attorney Genral, which I've seen suggested before though don't understand, but what experience does Edwards have as a freshman Senator and trial lawyer with economic policy?
I can't see Al Sharpton and Joe Lieberman in the same cabinet, ever.
OMB would be seen as a step down from being U.S. Senator.
Al Sharpton isn't an attorney. He has no experience in law and is a demogogue. Why place him as Attorney General?
Wouldn't Al Gore kind of overshadow Moseley Braun? He was a Vice-President and a U.S. Senator for multiple terms. She had one term in the Senate and was ambassador to a fairly inconsequential country.

But to mix the sweetness with the sour, Kucinich would be an awesome energy secretary and Gephardt would be a near-perfect labor secretary.

2. You probably missed it
At the time I posted that there were many threads listing fantasy cabinets and putting Braun in there. There were also many posters saying they would accept Braun for a cabinet position, but not for the nomination. This was my sarcastic response.

I'll defend any one of them--just for kicks.

  • Graham is the only one I'm not so sure of. Would like an escort to formal functions be a cabinet position? I'd imagine Graham cleans up nice, but can he dance? Couldn't tell you.

  • Edwards. He understands Wall Street, and esp. corporate ceo wrongdoing and governance. His appointment would be a signal that the Braun administration is serious about transparency in the markets.

  • If Lieberman gives up his Senate seat, he's not going to get a step up to President anyway. Any job will be a good job.

  • Sharpton is the perfect antidote to Ashcroft. I don't believe he's a demogogue (although he may have engaged in demagoguery in the past). He understands justice, and U.S. justice at that.

  • Lieberman and Sharpton together: :grouphug:

  • Gore would overshadow anybody, whatever he's doing and whomever gets elected. Might as well do his overshadowing where it would be appreciated and do the most good.

  • Braun has 25 years of experience in public office, and on behalf of antipodeans, raspberries. The first Maori president is just as credentialed as the fellows, and more than some.

3. I don't think so.
I'm certain she or Dennis will come up with better choices.

5. Which Clinton?
Because Bill can't be a cabinet member (perhaps a Supreme Court nominee, though).
