The large candidate field is good for the party
I just realized that one of the biggest problems in 2002 was that when regular people thought of the democratic party, they couldn't put a face to the party. no one personified the party. there were no celebrities. gore was below radar, few people knew daschle, and if people did know gephardt, they probably didn't like him.

oh, have things changed. now, how can people not think of a face? of course, most people won't think of the same person, but who cares? in 2002, most people forgot that the democrats even existed. we've brought the party back from irrelevance. some like the attractive and magnetic edwards. others like the statesmanly and respectible kerry. others flock to the energizing and quixotic dean. some like the smile of mosley braun, or the wit of sharpton. come to the democratic party, there's something for everyone!

We currently have nine, possibly ten people, all gifted orators, working full time to spread the gospel of the democratic party. as long as we unite in the end behind one candidate, even if we lose we will be so much stronger for it.

2. I agree
Another point--if we had just one candidate, all of the Republican media would be criticizing him. This way, they can't focus on just one person.

3. I fully agree, Ishkaboogl, except on the quixotic part. (n/t)

4. I honestly believe at this point in time, any of them could
beat bush to a pulp.

5. As long as they don't cannibalize each other
like Lieberman is trying to do.

6. You're right.
We have a lot more variety in our candidates than the other party.
