1. Out in the conservative half of Washington.

The other candidates had better stop "pacing" themselves.

3. BIG!
Not 15,000 like reported, but there were 8-9,000 people there. It was as large a crowd as saw Clinton the handful of times that he came to town. And he was Prez already. I described it in another post as a "Chimp barbecue." Raked him over the coals.

I've seen both of his live appearances in Seattle. The first had 3,000 people attend. A couple months later, 8-9,000 people. sfecap, I was watching the next POTUS. There's no doubt in my mind.

11. I was hoping for 5,000.
He nearly tripled his attendance in 2 months. It's unbelievable!

Here are things that I think are very telling:

4,000 in VA---Moving into the South!

500 in Idaho, home of RW Aryan groups, just to see his plane refuel!

1000 in Spokane, becoming less conservative, but still staunchly right wing.

Nearly 10,000 in Seattle 6 months before the caucus.

It's a snowball that's gonna roll down Pennsylvania Ave.

Whether you're a supporter or not, the primaries are starting to get out of reach for the other candidates. Listen to the radio. Watch the news. Howard here. Howard there. America loves to be on the winning side and Dean is racking up support exponentially. People-powered Howard!

17. Another example of Dean's potential in a conservative city.
If long shot like Dean can draw 1,000 in Spokane, why is the DLC fretting? Spokane is not what I would call a Democratic hotbed. Dean could bring in people that are either not voting or were raised as tradition Republicans, but who are now seeking a new political message. I went to visit a former Army friend in this town, and it seemed just as hostile to liberalism as most places in the south.

Nothing special posted there. My camera batteries were dead.

Advice: Never buy a 4-pack of AA batteries for 99 cents.

9. My husband's nephew from Wenatchee WA
and his friend visited us a couple of weeks ago. The nephew and friend love to hunt and are very macho, and the nephew was raised Republican. However . . . the nephew works in a small business and the friend has relatives in Iraq who are very demoralized. I am thinking that these guys could desert the Republicans if Dean can continue his macho ways and continue to make Bush look lazy and incompetent.

6. I think Washington State is Dean country
I think he will win the primary and should certainly be able to beat Bush there given the economy and Dean's support in the state.

13. I live in Seattle and my girlfriend's parents run the Dean meet-ups
in Long Beach, CA.

Washington and California are both in the bag for Dean. You can probably add Oregon but I'm not as sure about that one.
