Dean expects to raise 10 mil+. How does this impact....

the rest of the field? Joe Trippi, Dean's campaign manager has been quoted in several papers saying that the campaign will raise more than 10.3 million in the 3rd quarter. That's a lot of money. Does this change the equation for some of the other folks in the field. It seems unlikely that anyone else will even come close. Who will we be saying farewell to?
Is there anyone you think should leave the race?

1. Nope...still too early to bow out.

Even a candidate with no statistical chance at this point still has issues to be discussed. Being a candidate gives them a forum in which to be heard. I think it's good to let the public hear all of the differences at this stage.

I'm a Dean backer, but truly think most, if not all, of the candidates have something positive and important to bring to the table. That's the good thing about primaries; they get an audience for their ideas. and I want to hear them all. Remember, any one of these candidates may end up in the cabinet of the new Democratic President.

And I truly love to hear Rev. Al speak, and DK has some great ideas from the more progressive side, Kerry, Graham, Edwards, Braun, Gephardt & Lieberman bring tons of congressional leadership, experience and knowledge to the party.

We should NOT be bashing the other candidates, but embracing their ideas and strengths. Just look at the field of talented and strong DEMS we have running for President. Any one of them is lightyears better than Bush*Co and his ilk.

Sure, some more than others, and everyone has opinions, but it's the primaries after all.

Whoever wins the Democratic Primaries, and I mean any one of these 9 candidates, and Clark too if he announces, will get 110% of my support.

A campaign manager is not a wholly unbiased source. Also keep in mind that Kerry and Edwards were the number one and two in total money raised prior to this, so Dean does have some catching up to do.

The Kerry campaign has barely spent a penny so far. They are waiting for people to start paying attention. The marathon leg is over in a few days. Once Kerry announces, he will unleash the power of the fully functioning Death Star on your rebel friends.

Granted, he's raised more, but he's actually spent $5,166,208. Dean Has raised $10,545,459. Disbursemenents of $4,144,111. This is as of the last filing, July, 1.

Kerry and the others have had to spend money to raise money. Dean's been raising money with a very small overhead.

So.... bring on the deathstar.

(I appreciate your enthusiasm for Kerry. He's a fine man, but geeesh, the way Jordan and Lehane are running his campaign is a crime. It's like they're moles for Rove. Have you seen the picture they put up on his blog? It looks like it came out of the Onion. It's a cariacture of the aristrocratic New Englander. It really irritates me. They've got this great candidate and they're screwing the whole thing up.
