1. Thanks for the link!
I believe the reason Dean has become so inspirational for so many is that his main emphasis is the importance of the American people to take back their country. If he is not nominated, I sincerely hope whoever is will take up this banner, as it is the way to inspire and ignite the electorate.

Personally, I believe this is the American people's last chance to take back their country. If Bush "wins" then we will quickly become a facist dictatorship.

3. This is THE 'wildcard'. Dean getting repub votes as he has in Vermont.
This is also why the 'peaking too soon' mantra is sooooo wrong. Dean has set up a very solid, very large demo base very early and then slams into the repub base. He has well over a year to garner repub votes. His probability of a 60+ popular vote is VERY easy to envision as Kerry's stategists have mucked it all up for Kerry.

Howard's campaign has been brilliant and is waaay ahead of schedule.

4. It reminds me of the republican support that Tsongas was getting
in 1992

I just hope that Kerry isn't plummeting too soon.

5. As unbelievable as it has become Kerry has no power to effect this
election. Howard was just way too right and so much more in touch with this country's problems. I believe part of his insight comes from he and his wife's connection with all strata of the socio-economic lives of ordinary citizens in Vermont.

Kerry has no reference point for this and certainly no personal daily involvement with it.

6. I am not sure I agree with that.
Kerry is in the privileged class. So is Dean. That does not make either of them bad candidates. What Dean did was to move more quickly to embrace and get in touch with regular people. I imagine Kerry did not move as quickly because he took advice about "peaking too soon" and other bits of conventional (read: stupid) wisdom, and it has cost him dearly. He is not out yet, but I do not think he has much chance any more. I will still support him if he gets the nomination, but honestly, I can say that without having to worry because Dean has the nomination locked. :)
