Drudge: RNC Chair calls Democrats Meanies
GILLESPIE EXPLAINED ON NBC'S MEET THE PRESS: "IF YOU SAW THE DEBATE THE OTHER NIGHT WITH THE NINE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES, I THINK HISTORY WILL SHOW THIS FIELD HAS TAKEN PRESIDENTIAL DISCOURSE TO A NEW LOW. THE RHETORIC YOU HEAR, ON EITHER SIDE OF THE AISLE, RONALD REAGAN NEVER SAID JIMMY CARTER COULDN'T FIND COUNTRIES IN HIS OWN HEMISPHERE.

"MONDALE NEVER SAID REAGAN WAS A MISERABLE FAILURE. WHEN BILL CLINTON RAN AGAINST GEORGE BUSH, HE DIDN'T COMPARE HIM TO SADDAM HUSSEIN OR THE TALIBAN. WHEN BOB DOLE RAN AGAINST CLINTON, HE DIDN'T SAY HE WAS A PHONY OR LIAR. THE WORDS WE'RE HEARING FROM THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES IS SO BEYOND POLITICAL DEBATE. THIS IS POLITICAL HATE SPEECH.

"I THINK THAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WILL REJECT THAT APPROACH. THEY APPRECIATE THE PRESIDENT'S STRONG AND PRINCIPLED LEADERSHIP, THAT HE HAS A POSITIVE AGENDA AND THEY HAVE NOTHING BUT NEGATIVITY AND PESSIMISM TO OFFER."

sorry for the caps. Drudge thinks caps lock is cool.

1. Bullshit...
...the American people love a good brawl. Why weren't these assholes singing this tune 5 and 6 years ago? Because it wasn't politically expedient. Now it's their boy getting the shit knocked out of him, oh boo hoo. What a bunch of wooses...

3. I just posted this on another thread but it bears repeating.
This Dem is wearing her "mean and negative" like a Badge of Honor!

Too bad if it is "mean" to point out bush's "Negatives"!

4. This is Ironic
Clinton Chronicles anybody? Vince Foster? Mena, Arkansas? Paula Jones? Filegate? Travelgate? Ron Brown murdered by Clinton? Chelsea is a dog, as per Rush Limbaugh? Chelsea is Web Hubbell's daughter? Hillary Clinton is both a lesbian and Vince Foster and Web Hubbell's lover at the same time?

I think we can reasonably conclude that these folks are nothing but cowardly bullies. They threw so much crap in the 90's, and get offended when democratic candidates fight back? We are playing relatively nice too. What if there was a "liberal" talk radio cabal constantly harping on DWI, AWOL, Laura Bush's vehicular homicide non stop 24/7.

I hope Dr. Dean has taught the democrats a lesson. The only way to stop a bully is to stand up to him. Don't hide, call yourself a "progressive" because the bully has besmirched the "l" word. Fight back, hard, be honest, but tough as nails.

11. Talk show squackers have already jumped on this theme.
Well put, FNB. A couple of weeks ago, one of the Rush-wannabes who populate a Milwaukee radio station was just so "shocked" about the things that were being said about poor George Jr; it supposedly surpassed anything that was said about Clinton. Huh?? Doesn't this reflect more of the on-going theme that these people can dish it out but they just can't take it.

5. Of course they didn't say those things.

Jimmy Carter can not only find all those countries but also knows that ketsup is not a vegetable (unlike Reagan).

Mondale was too much a gentleman to say that Reagan was a miserable failure (though he was).

Bill Clinton didn't compare George Bush to Saddam Hussein because most of America didn't understand what went on during Iran Contra and therefore it was a waste of time.

Bob Dole didn't say Clinton was a phony and a liar. He just let his henchmen do it for him.

Finally, all of the things the candidates said about WA are true.

6. Since when is telling voters the truth
wrong.Gillespie read my lips, somtimes the truth fuckin hurts grow the fuck up.Are you stuipid enough to try to tell the American people that this nit wit president has a positive agenda? That is simply ignorant.Since when is fucking death positive. You idiots still don't have a clue. Not only are the Democrats outraged,America and many of our closest friends are outraged. The republican party is solely responsibile for this and America has had enough.Canada is not the enemy,France is not the enemy,Germany is not the enemy, protesters are not the enemy. You republicans should be ashamed of your go it alone Texas style government, your radical and reactionary policies are appalling. When you abuse the trust that the American people have placed in you such as this administration has why are you surprised?Do the republicans believe that the American people are foolish enough to fall in step like the Germans did in the 30's and40's?Thank god for education and people remembering history. This election will be about"its the democracy stupid" and the American people shall be emancipated.Your boy didn't win the 2000 election but he governed as if he had a mandate. He used Osama Binladen to stifle America and to take our freedoms away.America has had enough, you all are going down and it's about time.

7. The RNC is using the Dem playbook
What were Clinton's numbers AFTER the impeachment vote? In the 70's I believe. The repugs are experts at "negativity". They thrive on it. It took them awhile to figure out that "attacking" Clinton all the time wasn't working, that the American people didn't want to hear this shit. So if it worked for Clinton, it will work for Bush? Ummm...no.

Bush is NOT Clinton. Bush does not have a "Positive Agenda" and all he DOES have to offer is "negativity" and "pessism". The American people are swimming in "negativity" and "pessism" right now.

:silly:

10. They are real upset
That the dems are succeding in the heavy, heavy politics, a minority must take when in that position. Daschle and the rest of the senate have succeeded where the have always failed with the giving up of Estrada. They are pissecbeyong beleif, and are crying foul that someone has to dcided to play as unfaily as they are used to doing.
